Does everyone get Botox?

Anonymous
I’m 56 and started last year. I also did a small amount of fillers in my cheeks. I have a small thin face and my jowls are what bothered me most. The filler is very subtle and although I still have jowls, they aren’t quite as bad. I also go very light with the Botox. I don’t color my hair and I’m not the most fashionable person. I think people would be surprised to know that I am doing it. It’s not a miracle but it’s helpful.

Old, young, male, female, all races, all ethnicities, all socioeconomic levels (it amazes me how some people will put hundreds of dollars toward Botox but complain they don’t have money for other important things).

I would love to see the overlap of people getting Botox and posters complaining about the price of buying fruit for their children.

Haha. Yes!

It's not noticeable. Many years into my marriage, my husband started going off about crazy women who get Botox - he lives with me and has no idea.

Chin?

I don’t do it, but I’m pretty sure it smooth out the orange peel looking skin

I think it could also help with tension headaches

‘Course girl, it’s 2024! The answer is a firm YAAAS!

After reading this thread, I want to try it but I don’t know where to start. Where are you all getting Botox done? Any recommendations in Bethesda?

I used to when I was younger but I'm 57 and feel like that ship has sailed, even with fillers now. I'm saving for a lower facelift. As long as I age uniformly, I'll be happy.

Caren Sadikman.
I think it’s technically Kensington/Garrett Park but close.

I am 60 and have deep 11 lines. Botox won't help. May want to consider before they become deep.

Ugh, this is why women have lower net worth than men. Can we NOT chase each other down this rabbit hole.

I have no doubt a little Botox and fillers could make me look better. But if I do it, then I'll want to keep doing it. It get's expensive! I'd rather stick that money in a money market account and grow it. I'd rather have "deep 11s" and deeper pockets than a smooth forehead and have to work an extra 5 years to pay for it.

But as this becomes the norm, now women whose faces age more normally will face more age and looks-based discrimination. Great.

We could also just not.

A unicorn! Where did you go?

I think I look pretty good now and so what is enough. Not willing to get Botox every 3-4 months indefinitely. I have a hard enough time carving out time for haircuts, annual exams, dental check ups, mammograms, all the kids appts and orthodontics. Oh and I get IPL yearly. That is all I’m willing to manage

At 40 it had never even crossed my mind to get Botox. By 45, I had substantial lines across my forehead and was developing 11s. I got Botox and it looks so much better, without looking fake. A lot can change in your body in 5 years!

I have done it in the past and liked the way it looks, but decided that I ultimately would prefer to put my money toward other things, given that I don't have unlimited funds.

Then 80-90?

No girl, this is not why women have lower net worth than men. Not even close. And we’re never going to stop spending money to look good, so I guess you just have to die mad about it. I’m sure your marginally higher brokerage account more than makes up for it though
