It's a very personal thing. Everyone has their vices. The most efficient thing is to count calories and find the right balance. Like if you snack on nuts a lot, that's probably not a good idea for weight loss, even if on paper its nutrition profile is much better than candy. |
Any tips for giving up sugar? I need to lose 10lbs. I drink only unsweetened drinks, such as tea or water. I eat lots of salads or veggies with meals. I love fruit. I eat oatmeal and muesli. I try to walk at least an hour a day. BUT I have a hard time staying away from sugar which is preventing me from losing weight. |
No. Flour, yeast, water, and salt. |
I had this issue. Cutting out sugar totally helped me. I did low carb, cutting out sugar totally. I was addicted to sugar. After about 3 weeks, the constant cravings were less. But I mentally still loved sweets. Also, not just walk, power walk. Get the heart rate up. Do 20 minute cardio. Get the heart racing 4-5 days a week. |
What do you drink OP? I just lost 10 lbs of the 50 I gained since Covid. I drink about 3 or 4 cups of hot chocolate per day. I stopped cold turkey the past two weeks and lost 10 pounds. I’ve been drinking hot tea the past two weeks. |
All that to say give up the sugar |
Bread turns into sugars. They are both carbs. You gotta go cold turkey with the sugar. It’s an addiction. |
By that logic, are you suggesting to give up all carbs? That seems unsustainable for long-term weight loss. Most people lose tolerance for sweets if they give it up long enough. That doesn't mean they can't enjoy carbs altogether. |
