I know both can lead to weight loss, but which would lead to weight loss more quickly? |
Sugar. No question. |
Sugar. I mean who eats that much bread lol? |
Easy: sugar.
And if you love bread, think about sourdough -- it is a fermented food and better for blood sugar than regular bread. But you need real sourdough, made with a starter. Lots of sourdough at the grocery store is just regular yeast bread flavored to have that sour taste -- and that won't help. |
Sugar big just remember fruits are good for you. We need more fruits and veggies.
Cakes, cookies, chocolate, sugar in coffee etc should be what u give up or cut down on |
Alcohol!
But between the two, the answer is sugar. I would not do that though because when I deprive myself of sugar I tend to think more about food in general and thinking about food leads me to eat more. I gained weight when I cut sugar for six weeks. I think bread is easier to give up, especially if you’re eating lots of vegetables and good fats. |
Sugar.
And with your bread, first, agree with the above re sourdough. Second, there is a saying: "put clothes on your carbs" or maybe it's "no naked carbs!" It means, before you go for the carb, have some protein or fat or anything, so when you eat the carb, it isn't the only thing going into your system. It's to slow down and temper the insulin spike. |
Sugar, unless you're including natural sugars in that (ie, fruit). In that case, keep ALL the fruit (bananas, oranges, apples... everything) but ditch the bread.

Does anyone see a difference giving up alcohol (wine)? |
The answer to this question is “yes.” |
Yes. I saw a 20lbs difference. |
No but I don’t drink a lot, so it didn’t make much difference. DH lost 10 lbs in a few weeks. |
I'd say added sugar. I wouldn't worry about the natural sugar in berries or other fruits. |
Bread is sugar (ie carbohydrates). So, you need to cut out both. Eat protein and low carb veggies instead. |
Whichever one you eat more of. |
