How do you feel about tall and skinny men?

I’m currently dating a man who has the same physique as you. He is very attractive. What bothers me though is that I look much older than him even though I am 10 years younger I am 35 and he is 45. Now I don’t know if being chubbier makes me look older or perhaps African American males age better.

Black male here married to a white woman. Your post made me smile because my wife always jokes that she looks like my step mom even though we are only 5 years apart. Well it could be that because I have very dry skin and have been using my go to lotion for years that has helped my skin. On the weight side though I will benefit from a few pounds off lol

So OP don’t worry just be confident and have clean teeth. They don’t have to look straight but just make sure they are clean. Women will pick on your nasty teeth on a date faster than your weight. And by the way look at their teeth as well. It goes both ways.

I was sitting next to a tall and thin guy on a flight recently. My first thought was, wow he's hot. Second thought was, he's very thin so he's probably gay. Nothing wrong with that, just seems that gay men tend to be more conscious (or intentional) about staying slim in my observation.

Third thought was, wow his jeans are tighter than mine. I looked at our legs next to each other I noticed his thighs were thinner than mine. I thought damn, this guy is hot but even if I had a shot with a guy like that I would probably feel so self conscious about my weight all the time.

Perhaps?
Have you not heard the expression “black don’t crack” or seen any of the millions of memes about this?

Chubbier tends to make a person look younger anyway.

It's normal for men's thighs to be smaller than women's based on how we store fat. My boyfriend is very fit and his thighs are definitely smaller than mine and I'm not a big girl by any means. It's just how men vs women store fat and muscle. Straight men dont mind it (or even like it)

If you are fit and athletic then it’s fine, but skinny and unfit is not a turn on. If your “package” is tall and skinny that could be appealing but short and skinny is not going to help your cause.

I'd compare an extremely muscular man to a woman who has large breast implants and a huge ass and is very much an hourglass figure. Yes, that can be attractive in a way, but lots of men probably prefer the effortlessness of the naturally slim woman. For men, excess fat is almost always a huge negative- it serves literally no benefit. It's not like women want bigger breasts, hips or butts on men. So keep lean and dont even worry about it

For lots of men, some excess fat is a positive. For a fair fraction of men, even a lot of excess fat isn’t a huge negative. Especially when it’s distributed in an hourglass figure, then there’s no practical maximum excess weight!

Where are these men? I have avoided dating sites because I assume they want thin and fit.

I am 5’4”, 170 lbs.

I wish I could find you in person. I prefer your type and I am tall and skinny 6'0 150 lbs.

I wish women on the heavier side who stop worrying about men not finding them attractive. We are naturally attracted to curves. Even if a woman is "fat" it is not always a deal breaker. Ok 5'0 and 300 lbs is not the most attractive. But 5'3 200+ is not the end of the world. I Think women compare themselves to other women and think men prefer the skinnier women.

Don’t worry, a lot of us are perfectly aware; there are fat married women everywhere.

But 5’3” 200 pounds is actually quite obese and would indeed have a lot of trouble finding a partner. I was close to 180 at 5’2” at one point and it was not pretty- I looked much older than my age, was beginning to have health problems, etc.

I'm built like OP. Generally speaking, the tall/skinny physique will be neutral in terms of women's preferences. It won't open many doors, but it won't close many either.

Honestly, I think it has to do with adolescent experiences. Being scrawny tends to make you a target in the middle school / high school pecking order among the boys. Girls at that age generally aren't looking for guys who are lower in the social hierarchy. The dynamics of the social hierarchy change as you get older and so do women's preferences, but for the scrawny guys getting picked on, some of those lessons stick.

Chubbier means there is a double chin and that rings older. Extra weight around waistline also makes a person look older.

Being skinny makes you look even taller and women for whatever reason just love tall men (5’10+)
