Why will 2010 and 2011 players go to NVA only for teams near last place? |
It does not. Colleges recruit players not teams. Worst ecnl team in the country will have college offers even if only concentrated on top half of the team. |
Because Loudoun dad said so. |
| ARL 08 will win rest of season against VA teams and earn last spot for nationals. |
Even if they win the rest of their games, they’re still not qualifying for CL. |
Not so much. Union has the stats - just look at the data they are a machine. Their college placement is seriously impressive - top schools not just schools |
Anyone know what's going on with the 2009G team? Not a good year for them. Will they get a new coach? |
|
09 has same coach but lost some players to other clubs. Would be surprised if they squeeze into the playoff and if they do, they won’t do well there.
08 and 09 Arlington used to be one of the top teams. I’m wondering if their 2011 is following suit as they recently lost to a team they should have beat. |
Not so much? You should take a look at FCV and VDA. Also “top schools”. |
provide a link or list the schools by number of players and year. |
The 2009s also got helped out by players on their 2008 team last Spring. That helped them to make playoffs. |
Arlington stacked the 08's by moving the top 09's up. This happens a lot with the clubs. It is better for the club to have one very strong age group vs a few okay age groups. It usually does not work in the favor of the kids moved up. |
Arlington and a lot of other teams rely on size and speed. At the other ages, this doesn't work and they start losing. You can't win at the national level with several girls playing up. Eventually those players will be forced to play on age. |
At the national level, losing by a goal or two isn't indicative of much IMO. If the gameplay was solid through the match then that's what really matters, there's often too much focus on wins and losses and not enough on the quality of play. |
Do you think a top player on a ECNL RL team who won nationals would get the same chances of getting recruited as an ordinary player on a ECNL team? This is a 16 year old boy. |
