Seem like at least they know how to place kids.

Why not Union or vda then?

Or Loudon/NVA?

Realistically, these clubs are all the same. Just go where your kid is enjoying it and developing.

OP was talking college placement. Loudoun is nowhere FCV, vda, Union in college placement.

NVA - Wake Forest, Ohio State, Michigan State, LSU, Penn State, etc.

Recruited walk on slots are nothing to get too excited about.

Yep even the non walk ons as freshmen will be lucky to get a few minutes in garage time. Also the well know D1 schools are recruiting All ECNL type players. Overall very few players from the area get in to a top 100 school let alone a top 20 school. Even if your kid is an all star better have a plan B.

To PP -- sure you can get excited about being recruited. Not sure why you think not. Yes the top D1 schools recruiting top talent. But the DMV has a number to the top programs. Also top D3 programs which for a lot of girls is the goal.

I have followed a few clubs over the years. There maybe one or two girls every year or two who end up at a well know D1-D3 schools. Most end up at schools that are not competitive- ie the player would get in without soccer. It is really a misnomer to use “recruited” if you are familiar with process.

This is wrong. Go look at the current ECNL college commitments for this area.

Penn State? Doubt it.

You should check out the social media for some of these clubs. The commitments are there, but unfortunately the scholarship amounts are not. I have no desire for DD to be a glorified walk on at a big school so the club can post her commitment and then she transfers a year later.

If we are talking college placement then Union has the best record here in the DMV by far

Loudoun/NVA is setup up for success with the 07 Class. They were able to be scouted and offered P5 spots and have its best Class ever. Once 2010 and 2011 parents realize that, you will see more and more players going there. Arlington is the pits past age U13.

Except that Vda and Union have better 2010, and 2011 teams and better college placement.

FC Virginia and VDA over the last few years have been just as good if not better.

Definitely agree. Union is good but FCV and VDA have been placing a lot over the past few years. And many are getting playing time in college FCV signed 23 last year and 25 this year. VDA had similar numbers. That’s basically the whole team from starters to bench. The only ones not playing next level are either injured or choose not to last minute. Look at club sites. They announce the recruiting class.

It’s crazy that people think this is club based vs. team based.

The club you are at literally could not mean less. It’s all about where you finish in ECNL during U15 and U16.

Watch union and VDA 08s. Fcv 08s will be good.

Your club’s reputation with colleges matters.

Union and fcv 08 not performing at a national level. Do not expect the traditional club experience younger age groups received

Maybe for first look. But once a college coach realizes the team that they are viewing isn’t good, it changes.

LOL, beating PDA Blue and SUSA not performing on a National level. Tell me you know nothing by posting on a youth soccer forum. FCV 08s also have player on USYNT but that isn’t National level.

How’d fcv 08 do at nationals last year? Oh, you didn’t make it. That’s what not performing at a national level means.
