egg-citing goings-on at Swanson?

Even if they did, those kids would be bussed home at the end of the day, not wandering around Westover. Guess what...the kids doing this are the kids whose parents pay $1.5M to live in 22207.

Newsflash there is a good amount of affordable housing in westover mere blocks away from Swanson.

Also no 22207 kids are zoned to Swanson.

Best not to speak of things you have no clue about.

Slight correction to this. A small section is 22207. Highview park which is probably one of the lowest cost parts of the zip code. The area right behind the hospital and one of the few historically black neighborhoods in the County.

So it must absolutely be the poor kids. Because wealthy north Arlington kids don't engage in immature or harmful behavior.

They know who the kids are. The parents don’t care. There will be no consequences at home, so the kids will continue to be punks.

Since the incident wasn’t on school grounds, there isn’t much APS can do either.

It’s up to the owner now whether he wants to take it further besides taking away their discounted pizza and chips.

There’s video of them doing it, looks like they are waiting at the bus stop for the 2a to Ballston.

No. It’s just clear people don’t know who the student population is at Swanson.

Williamsburg parent here. Ask us about the years-long hijinks at Harrison Shopping Center. 22207 kids are definitely awful too.

We’re in 22207 and zoned to Swanson. Good try, though.
And I would definitely bet that the kids who pulled this do not live in affordable housing.

I'd take that bet. They're:
- at a bus stop
- dressed like slobs
- Hispanic
- targeting a 'wealthy, white' business

They almost certainly live in AH.

Regarding Swanson neighborhoods, parts of Waycroft Woodlawn are in 22207. That area is expensive. Adjacent Halls Hill is also expensive. Swanson draws mainly from 22205, 22207, and 22203.

Whether or not the egg throwing students are wealthy or live in the high rise apartments or condos in Ballston misses the point. Disrespectful behavior like this is sadly tolerated more and more. And apart from expressing dismay, little is being done to stop this alarming trend.

Good lord, yes this behavior should be punished, but not let’s not act like it’s not age appropriate shenanigans and that it’s only limited to children from lower social economical backgrounds. I would bet the majority of the people on this website toilet papered peoples houses, egged homes, etc. as a child in the 80s/90s. Some probably even put a banana in a tailpipe. Stop demonizing.

I’m 22201 and zoned for Swanson, which is not really the point of this thread but interesting that Swanson pulls from so many zips.

I believe it was on the local eyewitness news. I forget what night.
