Tell me some recent progress stories - scale or non scale

I'm at a weight/size/shape that is where I feel the best, and I would love to maintain it. I've been here in the past and have never been able to maintain it long term. But my success is that at this moment I am celebrating that I'm here and acknowledging to myself how great this feels even if it doesn't last forever.

I’ve started walking up stairs for exercise — which is something that I can sustain throughout the winter. I haven’t weighed myself, but I can tell by the way my clothes fit that good things are happening.

Another Intermittent Faster here. I did IF and macro counting in the spring and lost 10 pounds over about 2-3 months. I was really happy that the scale was going down, after creeping up for a few years. I stopped the program I was using to track macros because I thought I could do it on my own and save money (it costs $70 a month). Well, summer happened and I started all my bad habits (not eating enough protein, eating way too many sweets, drinking, eating late at night) and I could see the scale start creeping up again. I signed up for the program again last week and have been pretty good about counting macros for a few days (which means cutting out a lot of junk). Last night I was watching a movie with my kids and someone asked if I wanted popcorn (we always have popcorn when we watch a movie), but I realized I wasn't even hungry and said no thank you. I went to a potluck at school and ate beforehand so I wouldn't be hungry and stuff my face with whatever. I did have one cupcake, but that was it. I didn't have any sweets at all yesterday. I am going to do this program until the new year, and then hope to figure out a way to count macros on my own without paying $70 a month. But right now I need the easiness of it and it's working. Small victories but still victories none the less.

I was really down because I have not lost weight much over the year that I have dedicated to focusing on nutrition, weight training, and Tabata cardio. I had a dexa body composition done a year ago and a follow up scan recently. I’m in my 50s (and female). I went from 43% body fat to 23%. Such a relief that something went down!

I haven't been on the scale in a long time. The scale is rarely my friend lol. We did get a dog about 2 months ago and I've made some conscious effort to eat better. I got on the scale this morning and I haven't been this low in quite a while. Don't get me wrong I have plenty more to go, but it was wonderful seeing that number!

I'm 41 and have always been "skinny fat". I started lifting heavy in the spring, and now have definition in certain parts like my arms. It motivates me to keep it up. The hard part is shedding the belly fat, but I guess that comes with diet.

That’s AMAZING! I’m trying to go from 25-20% and it’s so hard. Good for you!

This is not a commercial, but: two days ago, I tried Clevr SuperLattes for the first time. I got the London Fog (Earl Grey-ish) one. I’d like to limit eating wheat, dairy, sugar and meat, and stop snacking on chips after dinner. I read about these oat milk based lattes, fortified with stuff I’ve mostly never heard of, and thought that they might make a good bridge as I wean myself away from snacking.

Anyway, so far I’ve had 3 cups of this stuff in two days, and I’m surprisingly NOT hungry. With all the options for holiday meals and snacks around, I’m just not really interested. Just on the off chance that this is somehow related to the lattes, I plan to monitor my eating habits until something changes — or I run out of latte mix.

Does anyone else drink these — and notice something similar? It would be very cool if whatever is in these things has somehow flipped a switch for me that will make it easier for me to eat healthier. Fingers crossed.

Bumping this for more motivation.

In October I made a goal to lose 5% body fat by my 55th birthday. I joined a gym and started strength training, worked on my diet with a nutritionist, and tried to stay consistent above all else. Today is my birthday and I’ve met my goal. Happy birthday to me!

Wow- impressive. I'm still at 5lbs- and that's tough.
