Are Covid cases increasing again on college campuses?

This was certainly my DS' experience when he started college two years ago. He was sick within a 3 weeks. Close quarters and probably contributing, lack of sleep.

And OP: your kid is going to be sick for about half of freshman year. It happens to all freshmen, and even worse so now after being away from germs for three+ years. Your kid will get multiple colds, stomach bugs, and yes, maybe even Covid.

+100 My DS was sick almost all of freshman year with something. He's currently a sophomore and I'm sure the covid isolation during high school didn't help his immune system!

Yes, in my anecdotal evidence, their immune systems are a mess.

Mine had the freshman stream of illnesses before covid. I went to visit him and got sick too. My kids always got sick in September when they returned to ES, MS and HS and classmates shared their germs.

I just came back from a girls’ trip to the Miraval spa in Arizona (summer camp for middle-aged ladies) with covid. So I would say it’s going around.

I will add that it just feels like the head colds of yore. Nothing to get worked up about.
