Are Covid cases increasing again on college campuses?

Definitely at my kid's school. Mine masks the first couple weeks of new academic year and after breaks. So far so good. Seems to be a little more than last year, so she may mask a little longer. Hopefully, it will calm down in another week or so.

Basically, the only kids at college right now who don't have Covid are the ones who don't test. It's everywhere. It's okay. And OP: your kid is going to be sick for about half of freshman year. It happens to all freshmen, and even worse so now after being away from germs for three+ years. Your kid will get multiple colds, stomach bugs, and yes, maybe even Covid.

Do you really think your kid is masking around her college campus? That's funny.

Are people actually testing for covid? Colds and viruses go around. Deal with it. Covid is not a big deal.

Yes EVERYWHERE it's time for you to watch the news.

I told my son to give his OTC meds to people on his floor who needed it so he could make friends. We have very different values.

I'm not nursemaid for his floor.

No. They’re not. Everyone has covid. Whether they’ve tested for it or not. I’m ok with that.

Yeah, she's masking. She doesn't want to get covid. She is the most cautious in the family.

Not sure why you need to weigh in on what my kid does or suggest that she is dishonest. Just do you. Your conjecture is way off base.

No they don't. Also, while it is mild for some, it isn't for others. Those with symptoms should test and mask if they have it or think they might. It's not a huge ask to mask for a few days.

People should do lots of things but in real life they just aren’t. Don’t send your kid to school if you’re that worried.

My kid has it as of this morning (first time). They had minor cold symptoms for a few days thought it was just the cold that had been going around. I thought they should test, just to be sure. School policy is no classes for 5 days, then five days masked. Professors record classes for this situation, so they should be ok being out just a few days.

Yes spreading all around my dd’s campus to students and faculty. My dd was sick and came back negative but she had Covid in August so maybe she is spared this time.

+100 My DS was sick almost all of freshman year with something. He's currently a sophomore and I'm sure the covid isolation during high school didn't help his immune system!
