Are Covid cases increasing again on college campuses?

This. Schools like UMD says kids with COVID have to go home so that puts COVID positive people in planes, trains and/or in hotels to spread the virus further.

Fun.

Really bad policy choice. Those applying this year should take note of how schools are handling COVID. It is going to be like this every fall from now on.

With policies like these no one is going to test.

My DS is a D1 athlete and their coach told them not to test. So kids are definitely getting sick. Whether they test or not, it’s going around.

No. They’re not. Everyone has covid. Whether they’ve tested for it or not. I’m ok with that.

No they don't. Also, while it is mild for some, it isn't for others. Those with symptoms should test and mask if they have it or think they might. It's not a huge ask to mask for a few days.

People should do lots of things but in real life they just aren’t. Don’t send your kid to school if you’re that worried.

are you serious? people who don't want to get sick need to SKIP going to college?

No it doesn't. It just means UMD students aren't going to test, and certainly won't report cases. Presumably that's the intent of the policy.

Coach should be fired.

My son had a short but really scary case of COVID last year. Don’t assume that every case of COVID in a healthy vaxxed kid will be mild. It could be a pretty awful experience.

Covid is a new strain of a cold that will now always be around. People don’t freak out when their kids go off to college and a cold or even the flu goes around.

It’s pathetic.

For following the school's policy? That's weird. Colleges clearly don't want students to test.
