You are a democrat, which means you want it this way.

You voted for this! Now stop complaining.

Ha ha. Not a democrat. It pains me to live in Montgomery County

Every republican I know were all for legislation. They want pot and guns.

Seriously people. Relax. And yes I live in DC and no I'm not one of the potheads in question.

I've definitely smelled it from other cars and it's wafted into my car many times. So I open my windows for a few seconds and blast it out, and move on with my life.

I've smelled it all manner of public places and maybe even walked through a cloud or two. It does not stick to your clothes and hair from a momentary, or even several minute encounter. You're exaggerating. You are not going to get a "contact high" or pop a positive on a work drug test, your children are not going to get stoned from intermittent or a passing encounter with outdoor second hand smoke.

Yea, it's a strong smell and it's definitely bad manners/inconsiderate to smoke in a manner and place that it in close proximity to the general public. But it's not the calamity most of you here are making it out to be.

it actually is. and the smell certainly stixks.to you if you are surrounded by it, as you will be in areas where many people congregate. It is illegal to smoke in public so there's that, too.

We went early in the summer and saw a show at the arena. We had a great time. My teen said they could smell weed but I could not smell anything.

Maybe I just don’t know the smell terribly well but I really enjoyed the wharf ambience. Sorry it gave you a head ache!

What worries me about weed is what drug dealers lace it with these days.

It’s legal. It is sold in stores.

Your rush to claim smug superiority and failure to listen to what was being said is telling …

Obviously I’m not worried about the legal part -

Recreational Drugs are not the same as when I was young. There is a big problem with weed now being laced with PCP, fentanyl and other potentially fatal additives.

Gummies aren't the same as smoking it. The time to have it hit can be an hour plus, also the high is completely different. That said, I dunno how all these people function high all the time. IMO its only fun as an occasional.

You are giving mindset instructions that no one asked your for. You are not the thought police.

It's not just about smell, morons. Weed smoke is a carcinogen. It is also psychoactive.

I loooooooove remembering all the arguments progressives used to ban cigarette smoking in public places. They told us all it was inalienable right to breathe clean air free from cigarette smoke. Cigarette smoke also contained carcinogens. Yet it's hilarious how the same argument doesn't apply to weed when it checks off so many of the same boxes as cigarettes.

Americans are getting dumber by the day and believe all of the crap the weed industry peddles. They're the same as the alcohol industry, the fast food industry, the tobacco industry.....weed is not innocuous, and more and more clinical data piles up by the week showing how it f***s up people's brains, especially those of children. You may think it is innocuous, but you are ignorant of the fact that it is a carcinogen and you also expose the public to psychoactive chemicals that can mess up the development of children's brains.

Smoke it in your own home, dipshits. I have a fundamental right to clean air just like I am free to have clean air free from cigarettes.

This is everywhere in DC, OP. Like even outside of the museums.

It's even like this in McLean. When you turn left into VA coming from Chain Bridge, it REEKS of pot for at least half a quarter of a mile.

I don’t know of any republicans that voted for legalizing.

That is not the message your party sent when your party legalized pot.

The message people in the DMV received was: it’s now legal to smoke anywhere and everywhere. The real people who live here think it’s fine to smoke pot while driving.

I don’t car WHAT you intended by legalizing pot. What has actually HAPPENED is people smoking it anywhere and everywhere (including the wharf).

That is what you have done.

Wait - you met a republican?

In DC??!?

There can only be 1 or 2 of them here (other than congress-critters).

The worst thing is that DC Government has officially change the regulated legal name of Cannabis/Marijuana to Sweet Tea Leaf. Why?
