The Wharf - disgusting

It was a warm muggy night and we ate outside (big mistake) so the smell would not dissipate. I can tolerate a whiff here and there but this was like being in a smoke filled bar. Just got home and my hair smells like it and I have a headache.
Despite all the signs prohibiting it, no one listened, no one monitored, no one cared. We had fun but won’t go back. I really wish pot wasn’t legalized. I wish people would just chew gummies instead.

You are a democrat, which means you want it this way.

You voted for this! Now stop complaining.

I'm so glad that the state we live in now hasn't legalized this yet. I'm sure it's coming though.

I am a Democrat and I voted against to legalizing marijuana for this reason, both when I was living in DC and when living in Maryland. I also voted against it because marijuana is not this benign thing everyone is making it out to be. It can be addictive and it can have significant negative psychological effects. I don’t want people sitting in jail for years because of marijuana possession but we could’ve prevented that without totally legalizing it

You need to get your ANC together and push for change. Some areas have outlawed public pot smoking.

You can't outlaw someone's medical needs.

Whatever. That’s what edibles are for. Or your basement.

it's still illegal to smoke pot outside. I would have approached a police officer or called 911 and complained. If enough people do that, maybe they will start enforcing it.

agree with you re gummies.

lol! You haven’t been to DC in a while, have you? Cops don’t do anything until after a gun is actually fired.

I dated a DC cop not too long ago who told me that they will absolutely not do anything about pot smoking.

I don't condone smoking in public areas at all. I view it the same as cigarette smoking. But I'd much rather it be legal than people getting stuff on the black market or going to jail for it.

I HATE the smell of pot. It should be illegal to smoke pot publicly.

I second this opinion completely!

This problem of public pot smoking will not change until it is legalized nationwide at the federal level. Hopefully this will happen soon.
