Oh, this sounds super legit.

| Yes, of course. Very rare to be sexually active and never get it. I was vaccinated but that only protects you from the limited number of strains that cause cancer. |
| Yes, I had warts and then I had an irregular PAP in my 20s. Had a colposcopy and a LEEP and have had normal paps since. 46 now and dating, doctor has never mentioned the vaccine to me but maybe I’ll bring it up at my annual. |
| I’ve been negative for HPV at all my gyn visits, so I don’t think so. |
| HPV is no joke. Two close friends have died from throat cancer tied to HPV in the past 5 years. One friend was was 44, the other 53, both male. |
| Isnt hpv genital warts in men? |
HPV testing isn't standard for well woman visits. Pap smears only detect cervical changes, which are often due to HPV. But you could have very, very new case of HPV that hasn't led to cervical changes yet so it wouldn't register on the pap. |
Gay or straight? Immune suppressed or not? Smokers/drinkers? These things matter. |
I think Pap smears now do reflexive HPV testing |
I’ve known three men with HPV-caused throat cancer, and all were straight men who presumably caught HPV from female partners. All were in longtime marriages by the time the cancer appeared. |
Both straight, married men with kids. Not immune suppressed. One smoked/chewed tobacco in his youth. The other did not but was a big red meat eater which is surprisingly linked to throat cancer. |
I’ve known three (see one post above) though two survived. All straight, all previously healthy, all nonsmokers. |
| Yes, when I was in my mid twenties. It cleared on its own, and I did get vaccinated as soon as the shot was available as I was about to age out of qualifying for it. |
| The vast majority of us have had it and will never know until/unless we develop an associated cancer. |
| Yes, and I was vaccinated beforehand |
