The whole area was hit hard, from Ohio to the coast.

22 people died, 10 being in Virginia. Maryland had the most people without power (1.6 million)

Early release totally jinxed it, won’t even rain and Feds will be mocked. Probably for the best.

Good luck to Pink!

Weather form proponent here — so has it earned its place? Weather is a hot topic in these days.

I hope so! Please jinx us OPM!

I remember when OPM closed in anticipation of a hurricane/tropical storm that fizzled before it got here. That was excellent jinxing then.

No. This post should be in Off-Topic so that more people would see it. Tomorrow it could be moved to Weather. Today it's News.

I can't live where there are this many terrible storms and frequent power outages anymore. I'm too old for this bs lol summer ever summer.

Pray tell, where do you think there are no severe storms at this point in time? Didn’t you see what was going in California earlier this year? Our earth is changing. Buckle up or build a bunker.

Most people just skim Recent Topics, PP. This thread shows up as one of the frequently updated ones, and it has an accurate title calculated to draw the eye.

It's early. Don't be naive. I hope you're right, but dammit I don't want another derecho please. It was seriously terrifying, and the mess it left was memorable - in a very bad way.

tracking this. we are in a spot where the storms split and go around us (new Baltimore, va). I am hoping we don't have the luck the rest of the area has been faced with.

Is anyone else unable to focus at work? I have been doing required trainings. I just want this storm to be over and to be a non-event. The derecho was terrifying

Same! I’m struggling figure out dinner fir the family because I’m stressed about this. We kept our power last weekend but a power surge shorted our HVAC and we didn’t have AC for four days. Got it fixed and now this. I feel like our house is particularly exposed to high winds.

Would love for this to be a bust!!!!
