Does anyone follow Dr. Peter Attia?

I empathized with that and commended his self-reflection. I don't care about the snake oil stuff because I think he and his ilk actually share a lot of valuable information, especially for those of us with metabolic issues who have been led astray by traditional medical recommendations for decades...

BUT these messages show he thinks of women as trash. He is a misogynist and lacks basic morality, sucking up to someone like Epstein.

I mean I think sometimes this is how abusers get to to people. He does come across as very sympathetic in his book, which is very well written and compelling. Abusers often use the whole "I'm working on myself, look how self aware I am" stance to stop people from leaving them

So many hucksters. Why do people not see through all of these people?

Most people who get sucked into stuff like this (snake oil salesmen, abusers, cults) didn't think they'd ever fall for it either. The shame of falling for it is one aspect of why it is hard for many people to escape.

With this news, I no longer wonder why so many white men and women are split on how they vote. It is so enlightening, in an unfortunate way. Have wondered why this administration still has 40-40% support. Hopefully this will break the dam when more people realize what they've been erroneously supporting all this time.

Yes, and remember that most celebrity books are ghostwritten. The ghost writer can amp up the pathos and create a likeable character. He also is super busy and consumed with his health regime. He did not devote time to the physical act of writing a book.

This is a weird comment. Attia has never been overly political. I would guess his followers range across the political spectrum and I don't think his downfall will have any significant impact on the current administration's approval ratings or future electoral performance.

CBS News wouldn’t be so fired up about hiring him and retaining him even after these revelations if he wasn’t considered a particular kind of political.

I don’t care about the Epstein stuff unless it’s involving children. Didn’t Bill Gates give his wife an STD? I don’t need to know any of this crap.

You think all the women were willing and/not coerced? You dont care about rapes or drugging or injuries etc? You dont care about the trafficking?

How do you define children? Is a 16 year old not a child to you?

Considered by whom? I know some pretty left-leaning people that are very very anti MAGA that followed him.

Not everything is about politics. He appealed (and didn’t appeal) to a wide spectrum of society.

I’m speaking of him in the past tense because he is certainly in the sh$t now.

That’s not it at all. There are plenty of people fully engaged with this, millions upon millions, and I don’t need to be one of them.

My point about children is that Bill Gates, for example, could have gotten that STD at an Epstein party from a fully grown adult woman. It could be tawdry and nasty and downright gross without even adding the minors. I’m not wading through all that.

It's amazing how vulgar language is going to be his downfall and yet, we all heard Trump on the p**sy tape and still he got elected not once, but twice.

Anonymous wrote:I have been reading his book recently. I have also listened to several episodes of his podcast. I found his book very helpful as well as some of his podcast episodes. But I would tell my sister (who was the one who told me about him) that he seemed a little crazy. Good at presenting himself as reasonable but would go all in on wellness/health span stuff to a level that seemed unhealthy

The Epstein stuff is disappointing, but not entirely surprising. Definitely something off about him - of only based on the sheer amount of time he spends on fitness stuff for himself - not normal for a husband and a father. I don't mean it's bad to spend time on yourself, that is good, but there is a point where it is just way too much and quite selfish.

But if that is his job, why is it too much? If he is making a living with this as many of these people do he would spend many hours making it work. It would not be a 9-5 job. It would be the hours of a entrepreneur.

He isn't making any money during his 4-6 hours of cardio 3-4 hours of strength and 1 hour of stability training per week. He makes money from treating patients, book sales and his podcast. He is not a professional athlete.

He's also not a doctor, so don't refer to his clients as patients.

He is a doctor and physician. You can still get a medical practitioner license without finishing or even doing residency. You can still practice in a limited way.

It is impossible to get privileges at a hospital though. The inability to get privileges restricts your ability to bill Medicare Medicaid and also limits your ability to bill commercial payors (United Aetna etc.)

It is extremely unusual for people to quit residency. I believe he even quit when he was in his third year. Not sure. I am only speculating but I wondered if mental health played a role a d the grueling schedules. He has been quite candid though, so I would imagine he would disclose that. My impression was that he became disillusion and didn't like the way medicine was practiced. Can't say I blame him.

If you go to a reservation they are a lot more lax on who practices.
