Does anyone follow Dr. Peter Attia?

Anonymous
I love his podcast and am enjoying his book, Outlive.

I do! Although I do wish his podcast didn't get too much into the detailed science, e.g., I'm listening to one now on cognitive decline as we age, and I'm having trouble following without a Ph.D. But I really like his takes on food/nutrition and exercise.

I did until he went antivax. It colored my perception of him. Also he’s a bit of a bro

Where does he mention being antivax?

I had no idea he had a podcast. My favorite Pilates instructor was talking about Outlive in class one day so I got the book. DS18 has been reading it, I need to steal it back.

He’s not anti-vax. He was anti covid vax mandate.

Does “anyone” follow him? Why yes. Every single UMC bro, for starters.

No, never heard of him until the Epstein file release yesterday.

That’s only one of like a thousand emails between Epstein and Attia.

I have been reading his book recently. I have also listened to several episodes of his podcast. I found his book very helpful as well as some of his podcast episodes. But I would tell my sister (who was the one who told me about him) that he seemed a little crazy. Good at presenting himself as reasonable but would go all in on wellness/health span stuff to a level that seemed unhealthy

The Epstein stuff is disappointing, but not entirely surprising. Definitely something off about him - of only based on the sheer amount of time he spends on fitness stuff for himself - not normal for a husband and a father. I don't mean it's bad to spend time on yourself, that is good, but there is a point where it is just way too much and quite selfish.

I totally agree. I read his book and there was a lot of good info, but I walked away thinking his personal conclusions were too extreme. By all means get a lot of Zone 2 cardio and get stronger. But the average person would get incredible benefits from doing way, way less than he does. He takes it to a level that I think it over optimizing.

But if that is his job, why is it too much? If he is making a living with this as many of these people do he would spend many hours making it work. It would not be a 9-5 job. It would be the hours of a entrepreneur.
