Does anyone follow Dr. Peter Attia?

He’s keeping his CBS job.

Bari Weiss is the editor now. So no, I don't think it is too soon to say.

Correct

But Weiss is said to be opposed to cutting Attia, according to two people familiar with her thinking. As founder of the digital news site the Free Press and as an opinion writer, Weiss spoke out against so-called cancel culture and does not want to be seen as reacting to the Epstein frenzy.

Have wondered why this administration still has 40-40% support. Hopefully this will break the dam when more people realize what they've been erroneously supporting all this time.

This is a weird comment. Attia has never been overly political. I would guess his followers range across the political spectrum and I don't think his downfall will have any significant impact on the current administration's approval ratings or future electoral performance.

No one with brain cells supported this garbage

Only maga morons

Do you listen to his podcast? I am a female, a Democrat, well educated and well read, and I listen to his podcast.

I agree that it’s apolitical. It’s for people interested in improving health.

But recently he’s been going through the Rogan/Tech Bro transformation with the shirts getting tighter and tighter, the native warrior arm tattoos, the $50K wrist watches. I thought mid-life crisis, but whoa I didn’t know he hadn't finished medical residency, that he was worked at McKinsey, that he had left his wife alone as she was in the hospital with their one-month old who nearly died and she performed CPR, and we find out not only was he a douche for that, but it was to stay in NY to meet up with Epstein. And of course the crude, immature emails.

But I did not have him on my Who Will Be in the Epstein Files bingo card at all. Which I guess is why I’m eating all of this up.

OMG me too. I have been an Attia proselytizer for some time with my middle-aged mom friends. Ugh. Kinda knew he was a d-bag; it's pretty obvious in the way he interacts with his podcast guests, and also the way he acted on that Natl Geographic series with Chris Hemsworth many years ago (which is where I first saw him). So disappointed. Really feel for his wife, who clearly has already been through way too much with this egomaniac.

Agreed. His book also seems generally sensible. He explains the research that drives his recommendations, some of which are just very sensible things to do and not unique to Attia. Other recommendations are not practical for the vast majority of people and seem designed to promote a model of care that he financially benefits from. But his explanations of the research have been helpful for me as a layperson.

I have loved some of his interviews, and others I found too technical. I also sometimes got a whiff of him sometimes steamrolling over his female guests, interrupting them, but he definitely also listened to them and I appreciated hearing their voices, especially about women's health. Another thing I noticed is his podcast guests have been 95% White, and his book doesn't address health disparities by race in any significant way. He doesn't strike me as a MAGA racist but my guess is he just doesn't think race matters, he probably "doesn't see race".

What is tricky about him is his whole approach makes some promises about extending lifespan and healthspan that can be very attractive to people and they get very engrossed in following his lifestyle, which is not proven to do what he promises. I think it can be dangerous to be fixated on this because he says a lot of sensible things and then he recommends things that are less sensible. The sensible things give credibility to the non sensible things. And that's where I get the snake oil salesman vibe.

When I heard the revelations, I was shocked, but it was like an "ooooh.... this is what I was sensing about him". He's someone trying to be a good guy, but clearly has a lot of issues.

+ 1
I always really liked how he focused on women's health issues as well as the medical complex that prioritizes medication over prevention.
But YUCK.

Yep, same. I’ve listened to his podcast off & on for a few years now. His voice conveys maturity, expertise, professionalism. When you see pics of him, it’s surprising because the voice does not match his muscled bro douche vibe.

It’s another lesson that you must be weary of all. We don’t know anything about anyone.

I found his comment that “was ashamed” to be particularly shallow. He was ashamed to be caught. I doubt felt shame beforehand.

Not to mention the comment that "he's a different man than he was 10 years ago". He was in his 40s with children 10 years ago. Not a great line.

Lol Dr Gunter takes no prisoners.

Attia is a weirdo so this all tracks.

She definitely takes down the idiots who make a living scamming people. I think she was one of the first to go after Gwen Paltrow and her vagina steaming/weighted balls in your vagina bull shite. Gunter is a wealth of good information.

This other doctor cancelled her appearance on CBS because she won't appear there if they keep Attia on. Women fighting for what is right!
