Lots of coke at Tech in the late 90s as well.

Big Greek life scene, bar scene... so to the PP who says its not a social school, wrong lol.

Huh? I graduated from Tech in 94 and never saw coke there.

PP is the usual troll.

Not a troll, I went to VT late 90s and was in a sorority. PLENTY of my sisters did coke and E.

Same at UVA, btw.

Don't know much about VT but I know many kids that attend Radford go to VT campus to party.

What are spoil partiers?

JMU. 3 nephews at the respective 3 schools over the past 6 years. Definitely JMU

I graduated in 92. Tons of drinking, some weed, but also never saw coke or anything hard core.

Study hard, play hard. I was a STEM major.

All of them. But so what? They're all great schools, and I defy any of you to find one university in this country that doesn't have parties. And seminaries don't count.

Tailgating, block parties, nickel beers, battle of bands, Hootie and the Blowfish at the Balcony, keg stands, beer bongs…great times!

I was a Biochem major .

No fancy clothes or shoes. Most UVa students were from suburbia and had a lot more money. They could not relate to him. He was like a cast off. By the end of the semester, he had no cash left, so he only ate the 12 meals/week from his meal plan. He did graduate on time and had a challenging major.

I have often wondered how his life went later on. I know he was planning to send money home after he got a job, so they'd have money for food and heat in the winter. Yes, they were that poor. He was oldest of 3 kids.

Good for him but that is an unusual story and I’m not sure anyone would relate better to him at JMU or VA tech.

My NoVa suburban self had a friend like that at JMU. He brought moonshine from home but would not share with me. 😂 He’s a lawyer now.

Based on the kids in our neighborhood, the social kids who are into social media and like to party go to JMU.

Meh. It can be, if that’s your thing. Plenty of kids there for whom it isn’t.

Let's be real - much harder for any kid (very social party types included) to get into UVA than JMU.

For my kids, they were really surprised how much partying there was at UVA because at their school, if you partied basically at all, you didn’t get into UVA. You went to JMU or Tech.
