Why are parts of Herndon zoned to Oakton HS and will that change any time soon?

I'm the OP of this thread and we are looking at houses in Franklin Farm because we really like the neighborhood/community feel of it. I asked this question because I don't really want my kids on a bus for an hour to get to high school (but my kid won't be in high school for many years). Chantilly HS and South Lakes both seem closer. Herndon High School looks too far, also and isn't as highly rated.

Most people in this area go to Franklin Farm or Chantilly/Fairfax for shopping. It's a great area with lots of options. Reston Town Center lost a lot of popularity when they instituted paid parking with an app.

Yep. I won't ever forget that time that I tried to get my iphone fixed and couldn't park because I didn't have a phone or the app. I can't stand their parking even now.

I went to the doctor and told him “I think I have a Herndon.” He examined me and said “No, you have a case of Ashburn.” And then he gave me a prescription for Reston.
