Fake news. There is no so-called crime wave, just like there isn’t any recession.
If things were really that bad, I would hear about it all the time on NPR. |
You may be speaking as a parent, but who is speaking as a kid? If you”harden the schools” which I’m not even sure what that means… one door, no glass? That is an ugly way to grow up. We teach kids are unsafe with “safety drills and procedures” and then wonder why they are acting out in school. |

When morality is called dangerous, and those pushing for morality are called idiots, you end up with school shootings. |
I think people like you are immoral. Who is to say your definition of immorality trumps mine? |

Only if the shooter was a minor. |
Involuntary institutionalization of crazy people who would do stuff like this? Yes, I’m with you. |
Very fair point. You don’t believe in any absolute truth. So by your stance, it would be okay for some to call a school shooting moral. I call a school shooting immoral with no gray area. |

No Red Flag law in Tennessee. Covenant school shooter was under the care of a doctor for mental health issues. This doctor and parents could have flagged shooter prior to stockpiling 7 assault weapons and ammo.
This is just a snippet from The National Assessment Threat Center (NATC), a division of the U.S. Secret Service study (March 2021)— “Averting Targeted School Violence: A U.S. Secret Service Analysis of Plots Against Schools.” The NATC data strongly supports implementing mandatory national Red Flag laws or “threat assessments” in addition to mandatory national safe firearm storage laws. Both fall under the “Extreme Risk Protection Order” legislation proposed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The proposal was included in the Biden Administration’s gun violence prevention plan update from The White House Briefing Room statements on December 14, 2021. Again, in 2022. Biden has stated numerous times that our country will not be beholden to the NRA. Yet, here we are. The problem is GOP and their low IQ/EQ representatives. Purely political posturing, and they’re not even good at it. No one in their right mind is doling out sanity cards to these people. |
+1 That PP is hateful. |
Because like FIVE of the recent shooters - and there have been about 1500 in the last three or so years - have been on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. There. Did my homework. You have no point. Again the answer to mass shootings is vote out the GOP at all levels. Obviously they’re not going to try anything and since they, during Trump’s first year, made it easier for mentally ill people to buy guns it’s pretty clear that they don’t believe it’s mental illness, either. |
The ATF form 4473 should be updated to say are you currently under medical supervision for any mental illness, rather than "Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?" |
Naturally. Disgusting, but of course. I detest the idea of rewarding these garbage people who clung to their weapons of war and voted in people with A+ NRA ratings. But I support buybacks in the thousands, not millions, universal health including mental health care, and revising institutions. |
