As bad as Tik-Tok is, this legislative response is a horrible answer.

I agree. When you look at the thread and see the possible ramifications, it is scary.
And, we have seen on a smaller scale what happens when the government abuses authority to target political opponents. Why make it legal?

Rather, they will pressure China to sell it to the US for US control/regulation of the platform.

China will spin it as a victory…and it just might be.

No way China will allow the sale. or they may put a price tag of 10 trillion dollars. Why waste so much time asking nonsense questions? (can tiktok access home wifi haha)?

just ban it as China did to Facebook, google.

I think Oracle/Walmart still want to buy TimTok. Secret deal for American control for security interests with commercial benefits for China.

Let’s see what happens.

DCUMAD has nearly nothing in common with TikTok; consider:

- it does NOT use a targeting-algorithm like TikTok,

- it does not have “likes” or any similar feature,

- it follows DCUMAD isn’t designed to trigger dopamine releases like TikTok

- it technically has a “log on” user feature but almost no one uses it (as you’ve noticed), and

- it isn’t effectively an advanced espionage tool used by the Chinese Communist Party (TikTok is that, in case you did not know).

It irks me when stupid people smugly blabber “well, DCUMAD is social media too” - as if it’s identical to TikTok.

False. Quiet as it's kept, many of the U.S.' top adversaries post here to keep track of and influence the minds of America's best and brightest.

I wonder why the U.S. Military was the very first to ban TikTok many years ago?

It is almost like they have their own intelligence branch; maybe he even called the Defense Intelligence Agency, who realized TikTok is a tool of China’s Communist Party . . .
