I think PP meant to refer to Tim Riddle, not Tom Whittle. Totally shady business dealings, with all the dark arts, horcruxes, and mingling with muggles. |
This is a classic ridicule tactic spin masters employ. Trump used it all the time. It’s pretty low brow stuff but it works. I think, on the strength of the overwhelming evidence, that the HoS and his wife are at the very least morally questionable and have displayed poor judgment that is further easily clouded by self interest. I also think that they are culpable. They were not employees, they were the equivalent to a CEO, CFO and the Board until and through the collapse. So I would not want them running an established institution like Maret nor to be role models for my children. If I were parents I would start a petition to prevent them from taking up the position. |
Anyone who was dumb enough to take a one million dollar package from a KNOWN swindler is an idiot and does not deserve to run Maret. We are current parents and very dissatisfied with the board's decision. As for the ridiculous conspiracy theories about former Whittle students getting in, the current HoS didn't want Dennis to take over- what makes you think she would want any Whittle students admitted? One of the dumbest rumors spread on this board ever. |
Well, that's one way to describe the posts of an anonymous poster on an online message board. |
Make wild accusation. Ask unanswerable questions. Point to lack of answers as truth about wild accusations. Wash, rinse, repeat. |
| Ok, agree to disagree. Hopefully he lasts only as long as he did in the other schools. |
Here’s an easy one. Did they display sound business judgment? Did they behave ethically? No and no. |
| He didn’t give up the package, the wife stayed and collected $$$ throughout from what I heard |
Agree. |
Are you staying at Maret? We are an admitted family who, even with taking the anonymous fighting here with a HUGE grain of salt, has some qualms about entering a community with a new HOS and not knowing what may change. Wondering if families are voting with their feet or hoping it just isn't as bad as they fear. two days left to decide.....I was sort of hoping the incoming HOS would make the trip for last week's admitted families event. |
| that sounds really strange...didn't that school fail? this is so hard to follow! |
I think it will take a lot more than just some uncertainty about what might change to get most families who are otherwise happy at Maret to leave. |
that's a helpful indicator of how serious or widespread the dissatisfaction expressed here may be in real life. thanks! |
Agree with this sentiment. Particularly when the outrage is exponentially more prevalent from an anonymous message board conspiracy theorist than anyone who actually has kids, teachers or is otherwise a stakeholder at the school. |
