Agreed. I caved and have been watching the Peacock doc. I followed the case closely years ago but have no memory of that detail. So f’d up

I think it was a thrill kill. I was told by someone who moved in the elite high power folk BDSM scene with Joe that they likely had a cleaning crew on hand. I was not sure what to make of that but it was a very creepy convo to have in a professional setting. You can hire specialized crews to clean blood, etc usually after a homicide or suicide. As colleague said, no need for a time delay.

Not only was it carefully planned but it was a race against time esp with the way sound travels in those houses. And they did get away with it, so far. Maybe Joe wanted the other 2 to be powerfully bound to him. 3 men, 3 stab wounds, quite the legal conundrum is everyone stays silent.

Absolutely tragic.

This also took place before Ring cameras, etc. I suspect there were parties who left, if it happened today may have been caught on video.

I always wondered if it was a blood sacrifice of some kind, the body was almost completely drained of blood.

And if so, who took it and what did they do with it?

And if so, surely this may not have been the first time?

I agree. And what boggles my mind more than anything, is this -- how do you know that these two other people you live with are also sadistic psychopathic killers? I mean, if you or I asked our best friend or spouse or boyfriend if they'd be down for doing something like this, I would hope that would be the end of the relationship and an involuntary stay at a psychiatric hospital.

The idea that people would and could talk about doing something like this with other people, planning it out....it just horrifies me that a) there are people that sick out there and b) they somehow found each other.

This case has always been devastating to me, esp for Robert’s widow and family because there was so much ugly victim blaming speculation when the initial crime and some details were revealed- the widow and family spoke out in defense of Robert and his reputation and they should never have “had” to do so.

What has always amazed me about this is that with at least 3 perpetrators involved (and I believe all had some role, as must have outside persons as others upthread stated), that no one has felt enough guilt to leak this to a friend in a moment of regret or under the influence of alcohol or whatever, such that it is reported to the police and the police could work with that crack to get to the truth and bring justice. The silence has been rock solid. There is some serious depravity by multiple persons here and that is terrifying.

I just finished watching the Peacock show. I thought it was extremely well done, they stuck with the facts and did not push any far fetched theories. I was familiar with the case from the Washington Post articles and the WhoMurderedRobertWone blog but this doc served as an excellent refresher.

It's pretty obvious that one or all three are responsible for this. Is it theoretically possible that an intruder scaled the fence, broke in, grabbed a kitchen knife, went straight to Robert's room, subdued him, stabbed him and cleaned up much of the blood without alerting anyone else in the house? I suppose in theory, but we're talking Powerball type odds here. My personal hunch is that the crime starts with Dylan but certainly the other two cannot be ruled out.
