You People movie on Netflix

What really bothers me is that Joannah looks WAY WAY WAY older than his mommah.

It's distracting. She's had too much work and he's had not enough.

Well...maybe you're not the target demographic. I thought it was funny.

Are those tattoos on that fat red face Jonah real?

This. I thought they were a couple, not mother and son.

I thought they missed an opportunity to leverage Eddie Murphy’s comedic talent…unless perhaps he has simply lost his comedic talent? Stick up the a-$$ black dad wasn’t believable or entertaining.

David Duchovny was a real treat!

Although it was over played, I totally know women like that.

Wow, you suck

It was predictable but I loved it!

This thread is why humor is the terrible way it is in movies and tv shows these days.

People are offended over a movie that was written to have stereotypes.

Someone even mentioned one of Kanye’s songs playing in the movie. Just hilarious. Can’t make this shit up. The movie is more real life than the movie is.

So agree re Eddie Murphy - I kept waiting for him to have better lines/scenes.

I feel this was explained well in the movie - she dated a gorgeous, nice guy in the beginning but he was self-centered and didn’t really listen to her and try to really know her. Vs Jonah Hill. I thought they had great chemistry on screen and were a cute couple (and I am not a Jonah Hill fan).

I felt there chemistry on screen was horrible. They didn’t even kiss throughout the whole movie, and their kiss during the wedding was off screen! Did the female lead refuse to kiss him as part of her deal in her contract. How bizarre!

I mean no disrespect at all. I watched a movie on Hulu with a black female love interest and a white male love interest- interracial couple. I watched another movie with the same on Netflix. It was set in Verona, Italy, titled "Love at the Villa." Race wasn't an integral part of the story, except when she described him as "Thor" because he was so big.

Is this a trend that younger audiences want to see in movies and tv series or is it reflective of what is going on in real life? I see it in commercials, too. In the couple, the man is white and the woman is black.

In real life, it doesn't sound like black women see these as great matches. Any thoughts? I have not found any sources online discussing this.

Inoffensive sociopolitical commentary.
Not a great movie but a good watch.

Jonah Hill was great in Moneyball

and Wolf of Wall Street

In real like you don’t know any white man/black woman couples? That doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I know plenty.
