| I miss watching comedies in a movie theater. So much more fun when everyone around you is laughing. |
| It was so racist |
You do realize that Jews produced, wrote and starred in the film, right?? |
| I can't figure out why, in 2023, interracial dating/marriage is being treated like a THING. Also, of all the songs whyyyy is one with Kanye West playing in this movie? |
I watched this on a flight after a glass of wine - it was embarrassing how much I was laughing; tried to keep quiet which only made me laugh more… |
| The parents were written to be extreme stereotypes. DH and I are from different backgrounds and while we never experienced outright clashes when our parents were meeting, there were subtle comments that were uncomfortable for us. We could relate to the annoyance and sometimes embarasment the couple was experiencing while navigating blending the families. |
| I got about half way through the movie and had to stop watching after the 20 millionth closeup of Jonah’s face. Jonah looks like a 50+ year-old man and it didn’t seem realistic that such a beautiful, cool and hip AA woman would date someone like him. |
You know, that doesn’t matter, right? Still offensive. |

I tried watching this movie for about 10-11 minutes but then I gave up. I'm very, very over this self-conscious meta comedy and fake way of turning people into weird meme-y stereotypes. I mean, if you're talking about rising past latent racism and society's expectations, why are there Jewish stereotypes and Black stereotypes in this movie? Why are the characters so shallow, why is the writing so shallow?
I'm tired of movies these days. |

Lol I’m Catholic and the 1st meeting on the Jewish mom is exactly how it would go with my mom. Also, it’s exactly how it went gif my BIL with my Italian in laws when they met they STB Chinese American DIL.

| I could barely stomach it into the 45 min mark. From stereotyping Jews and Blacks to awful acting to annoying musical/graphical intermissions, it was vomit. |
| How dare a movie point out stereotypes that actually exist!! How offensive!!! |
+100 |
It’s offensive…that it’s so lame. We aren’t talking about Dave Chappell where he can brilliantly take on stereotypes. It’s just lazy played out stereotypes. |
