Cringe. Trying so hard and failing so bad.

The Post gave it a fantastic review so I was excited to see it. Was saddened that it was a substandard romcom.

I laughed and enjoyed the love story. It was endearing how the families, with all their weirdness, tried to make it work because they cared about their daughter/son.

Did not like the ending.

Not going to win any awards but a funny movie for a weekend night.

Agreed. They are so mismatched.

It was funny. I liked it.

All the Jewish people were portrayed as idiots. Very anti-Semitic film.

You do realize that Jews produced, wrote and starred in the film, right??

That doesn’t mean it can’t be anti-Semitic. Kinda like how black cops can still be racist.

This film is disgusting.

I thought it was funnier than the trailer led me to believe, but still somehow not as funny as I expected given the cast.

That said, it was not a bad flick and considering it's free to watch in your house I'm surprised people are so very bothered that it wasn't an Oscar candidate.

I thought JLD’s character was too over the top and not realistic at all. Nobody would behave that way.

I thought they missed an opportunity to leverage Eddie Murphy’s comedic talent…unless perhaps he has simply lost his comedic talent? Stick up the a-$$ black dad wasn’t believable or entertaining.

David Duchovny was a real treat!

I thought it was funny. Wasn't expecting an award winning movie and if you have to ask why there are still movies about interracial dating being a problem.. well lucky you that you haven't experience racism. *shrug*

I thought the opposite about JLD - loved her. And felt DD was a dud. Agree about EM.

Wait, so a movie is anti-Semitic if you don’t like the Jewish characters? They were supposed to be unappealing. That was the point. Eddie Murphy was also written that way. Sort if the point of the movie

You need to lighten up. It was just a dud of a film

I guess I'm a minority here because I thought the romance was sweet and believable. Many, many beautiful accomplished women have had their hearts won over by sincere schlubs!
