What is this? |
My in laws are Canadian and considering coming here and paying out of pocket because there is simply not access to certain kinds of tests in Canada. Not saying there is a perfect system, but pick your poison. |
I know that's the party line and you know that's BS. ACA got zero gop support, so Obama could have done something else. Don't blame his incompetence on some falsehoods. |
This. They don't need to renounce citizenship btw. Just go and live elsewhere. 99% would be back within 6 months. The average American wouldn't survive a year in Europe much less Asia or Lat Am or Africa. |
The ACA was a bipartisan compromise bill. Up until voting day when all the Rs turned around and voted No. If they hadn't signaled they would vote Yes up until that moment, the ACA would look very different today. Why do you think the Grassley amendment is called the Grassley amendment? He's not a Democrat, fyi. |
People love to say this. Do you know people experiencing these so-called long wait times other than your Boomer friends who will complain about anything? Fact: People over 55 love to complain about how everything is wrong with the world today. My parents love to complain about their health care in Canada. Like how they had to wait 8 months for each of my (obese) father's knee replacements. But the truth was that he lives in Florida for half the year, and still travels for work, so that was literally the only time it worked for his travel schedule. But they are boomers so they complained to everyone who would listen about how long the wait was. Had he just taken the first available appointment, it would have been no more than 3 months wait. Fast forward a few years and dad finally takes his shortness of breath seriously and gets the doctor to do all the heart tests. Three weeks to an angiogram, and then 3.5 weeks from then until quadruple bypass surgery. He was in the moderate risk pool; had he been higher risk he would have been in surgery within the week. In short, in my experience the only people complaining about wait times in Canada are old people who complain about anything; just like the maga old people in the US who want government to get out of their medicare. |
In many European countries you can’t just make an appointment with a doctor. You have to meet with a nurse who will then decide if you are able to see a doctor. If the situation is urgent you can see a private doctor at your own cost. Which a lot of people do nowadays. They even have loans you can apply for at the private clinic. |
Ah, you're saying the Obama WH was so clueless that they truly thought they had substantial gop support until....surprise surprise...ooooops! Come on. This was clear for months. |

"The average American wouldn't survive a year in Europe" Why? |
NP. “A chronically-ill woman who featured in a controversial commercial about euthanasia in Canada had complained months earlier that she wanted to live but couldn't access healthcare. Jennyfer Hatch, 37, was the subject of a campaign by Canadian fashion giant La Maison Simons which documented her experience with end-of-life care before her death in October.” https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11508581/amp/Woman-featured-commercial-euthanasia-Canada-wanted-live-access-care.html |
Go ahead and move to Canada, or Europe....enjoy your months-long wait to see your doctor for a max of 15 mins. |
Yes, friend's 18 yo son needed an MRI for his knee from an acute injury. Wait time was over 8 weeks. |
And what countries do you think those are? |
How fortunate for you that you don't have a chronic illness. through no fault of your own. My sons aren't so fortunate. They developed Crohn's disease as children and their medication alone costs $12,000 every 4 to 6 weeks, each. But, sure, please share your "wisdom." |
