Is it better to marry someone 5-10 years older than you?

Same here, although we have a massive libido imbalance, with hers a fraction of mine. To match up on libido, an age gap is better. I wish I had married younger.

A friend is 60, his wife is 63. He says he hasn't had sex in 10 years. "She wants to, but can't."

Geriatric fathers have fertility issues and children may have health issues?

There are doctors, therapists and medications for men and women, young and old.

+1

I guess my DH could have looked for someone even older, but I guess he settled for only two years older.

All things equal? No way. I’d want to be with someone my age.

Probably more accurately, “ She wants to WANT to, but can’t.”

The only pro would be more $$$ and assets.

We're eight years apart and the biggest challenge so far has been retirement planning. I'm the younger spouse and I make more; he has a steady but lower-paying job with an okay pension. Otherwise, he is gorgeous, steady, and patient. I can't imagine being with anyone else.

She doesn't get pop culture references of our peer group because they don't watch Netflix or listen to music made in the 2000's. He dresses like it's 1988 and she's a bit more updated but she wears "old" accessories like scarves and outdated jewelry which make her seem like she could be his age.

+1. Yes, I've seen this happen as well. Specifically with the 10ish year age gap. And from an end of life perspective, my father was 10 years older than my mother and when he died in his 70s, it aged her rapidly. She went from an active older grandmother, to mentally old and worn out. It was really hard to watch and she lost a lot of good years. Nobody here has posted about the end yet, but seeing that happen and her confirm that it's common.

Husband who is 5-10 years older would be more financial stable and emotionally mature. The woman will always be the younger, hotter one.

Yup but at what cost? Money is for life, life isn't for money.

You think men with hot and young wives don't cheat, divorce or die?

Women will also feel unhappy and attracted to younger men.
