Not Cava, but my mom gets extremely sick after Indian food and determined at some point it was the cumin (which is in a lot of different types of food).
Sometimes it's not the restaurant but even a relatively minor seasoning. |
I have this issue with Cava! Which is too bad because I love it. Happened multiple times so we have stopped going.
I wonder if it’s the warm meat on the greens? |
Are you eating eggplant/dip? It’s a trigger for some. |
There is a problem with food prep/storage in this area |
I never feel good after Cava. I have friends that absolutely adore it so I’ve tried a few times but obviously feeling ill each time I won’t return. I’m vegetarian and have only gotten vegan options. No clue what it is, as I’m not typically a sensitive belly type. |
I have eaten at Cava four times and almost every time I feel intestinal discomfort and queasiness. Same basic ingredients I would get at sweet green so I do expect it's food safety issues |
Interesting. A friend of mine was just talking about this happening to her, we live on the opposite side of the country. |
I posted earlier. My DH thinks he’s narrowed it down to the rice. There must be something in it, because he eats home-cooked rice without issue. |
Food poisoning doesn’t show up immediately, usually. |
True, but food sensitivities do. For me if I eat red onions, eggplant or cauliflower I am in the bathroom in about 15 minutes. |
Funny that somebody has resurrected this thread - I was just mentally thanking OP the other day: after reading this thread several months ago I also thought that it was ringing true. So I went recently again (mostly because it seemed like a healthy and reasonably tasty option in the area) and, lo and behold, horrible diarrhea. And I specifically had no romaine, no tahini, no rice - none of the suspects suggested in this thread.
My experimenting with CAVA is over - never going back. |
I was recently diagnosed with H. Pylori and Cava is the only new addition to my diet. I'm wondering if I picked it up there?? |
You could have E. coli. You can get tested for it. I once had it and my stomach would hurt after every meal. Terrible pain. |
Ate at Bethesda Row yesterday and enjoyed, no issues. Arugula, basamati, braised pork, hummus, eggplant, just to name some ingredients mentioned.
I get carry out there about once a month, never had a problem. |
Any fast food restaurant with lots of uncooked ingredients will make you sick. See chipotle |
