It has no place to drop further.
Very solid school at a relatively good location. Plenty of money.
It could only go up from there.

That’s nonsense. There are other schools rising that could overtake USC.

Which ones??

Tufts? NYU? rest of the #28-30 schools?
Nope.

It's 16th on endowment among private schools.
#23-24 seems to be right place for USC

Yea NYU. Deserves top 25 over USC.

LOL NYU is clearly a step down from USC which is a real school.

Are you from the west coast? Serious question. I am from NY and NYU seems head and shoulders above USC to me - it’s not necessarily that I think so much more of NYU, it’s that I think of USC as a fluff college which gamed the rankings (these feelings existed way before the varsity blues scandal). I wonder if you feel the same in converse becauase of where you grew up?

I'm from Northern VA. Are you new to DCUM or any college forum?? Seriously, when it comes to overrated, overpriced, gaming, NYU is one the first schools mentioned everywhere by everyone regardless of where you are from. I went to UCLA for two quarters in the 80s, and I looked down on USC at the time, but time has changed a lot since then.
You are probably very old and not up to date much. NYU is a good option for many kids due to NYC location, but USC is clearly a step up from NYU in general except for Stern/Finance.

Thats because you are still living in the 80s.
Welcome to the 21st century.

I guess everyone else is too except you... Right?

USC endowment 8B

Georgetown 2.5B, and it's falling apart.

Wake the F up

I love Williams College, but I think that Williams, Amherst, Swarthmone, Pomona, Wellesley, and Carleton College are deserving of the top ranking.

Claremont McKenna is in an elite class by itself as is Harvey Mudd College.

Bowdoin College has a friendly, close-knit, elite, prep boarding school feel (more like St. Paul's School & Groton, than Andover or Exeter).

My guess:

1) Williams College
2) Amherst College

3) Pomona College
3) Swarthmore College

5) Wellesley College

6) Bowdoin College
6) Carleton College

8) Claremont McKenna College

9) Middlebury College

10) Colby College (playing the ratings game well)
10) Davidson College
10) Harvey Mudd College

13) Grinnell College
13) Wash & Lee University

15) Hamilton College
15) Haverford College
15) Colgate University

18) USMA-West Point
18) USNA--Annapolis
18) USAFA--Colorado Springs

21) Barnard College
21) Smith College

23) Wesleyan University
24) Kenyon College
25) Bryn Mawr
26) Univ. of Richmond
27) College of the Holy Cross

28) Franklin & Marshall
29) Macalester College
30) Rhodes College

31) Bates College
31) SOKA
31) Thomas Aquinas
31) Oberlin College

35) Occidental College
36) Lafayette College

37) Centre College
37) Whitman College
37) Mount Holyoke College

40) Bucknell University
41) Gettysburg College
42) Trinity College

Smart people know that this is true of USNewsReport as well. Not taking any sides on the issue of USC -- but I don't think the rankings game in itself is much more than a game at this point.

Sure has been profitable though. (Not for students or parents.)

Peer reputation scores did not come out of my ass, but from college dean's and presidents they seem to agree that USC is overrated. NYU has Stern and Georgetown has SFS.
