Dogs Everywhere

I would leave.

Quoting myself to add that my dog only goes into pet stores.

God, how many times are people going to post this tireless whine? Dogs will go where stores and businesses allow them. This will not change. Cope.

Yes! +100.

You realize not everyone is a dog lover? There are those of us with allergies (like me) and people who’ve had bad experiences with dogs.

Wear a mask.

How does that help people with a fear of or aversion to dogs?

And: seriously? I should have to wear a mask to accommodate your dog? Lol.

Get therapy. Or go to a different store. Problem solved. “LOL.”

I carry a pepper spray usually when I am going for a walk. However, I sprayed a dog that ran into my yard next to me with a jet of "deer off". And he started whimpering and scratching his face. I told the owner that he ran into the path of the liquid spray while I was deer proofing the flowers and to kindly not let the dog come near my house again. Anyways, the dog and the owner are avoiding my house now. Best of all, none of neighbors like unleashed dogs.

Someone in DCUM had a wonderful idea once to put bacon grease on dog poop that unleashed dogs leave behind in your yard. I think that was brilliant!!

I always check ahead of time before bringing my dog into stores, and typically it’s places that are in my neighborhood on one of our walk routes- “e.g. just curious, in the future is it ok for me to bring my dog in with me?” We really just go to a couple of places (coffee, convenience store, hardware store) regularly where I know the staff and they know my dog. I would never just assume it’s OK and walk right in unless it’s a store that is explicitly dog-friendly, either through corporate policy or how they market themselves.

Wear a mask then.

I'm glad people are talking about this. Some dog owners are completely out of control and think the world revolves around them and their dog. I've noticed more and more pushback about it lately. There's also SO MANY selfish, irresponsible dog owners. In some neighborhoods, almost all except the super nice ones, it's almost impossible to go for a walk or run without hearing a dog barking madly at you. Why does the world completely revolve around dogs now

Clearly, we need a national dog ban to make the country safe for them.

But most people don’t pee or poop on the floor in a public place.
