' New poster and the last three words here, in bold, say volumes about you and those like you who simply refuse to believe anyone really is allergic to your precious dogs. You either didn't read, or read and chose not to believe, the PP who described in detail how her allergies to dogs affect her. To you they're just "sniffles." I figure you do not have nor are you close to anyone who has a severe allergy to anything or you might have grown a tiny bit more understanding. Do you hate all medicine and science and disbelieve it as much as you disbelieve in allergies as a real thing? Or is it only that you are so besotted by your pooch as your "baby" you must take everywhere, so you place your dog ahead of humans? Oh, and you also missed where the PP with severe allergies DID say she always calls ahead to ensure places are NOT dog-friendly. But the dog-is-god people take dogs to those places anyway. Putting animals ahead of humans. |
I’m not the allergic PP. But I see why the people who say inane stuff like “dogs are better than people” get the idea: it’s literally from observing themselves and their own behavior that they have the belief that humans are crap. |
Show us any evidence that severe allergic reactions when someone is fleetingly sharing space with dogs is anything more than rare. While you are looking, you will find countless articles about how most people with dog allergies should be able to keep their pets and manage their allergies. |
| Allergic pp here. First post since the one I made describing my symptoms. Severe allergy isn’t super common but it’s more common than you might think. There are also plenty of people allergic enough they can’t live around an animal no matter what the internet says. |
Service dogs are for people with disabilities and protected by the ADA. You can’t prohibit them. |
Can’t live with an animal and so allergic that being in a Home Depot with a dog sends you to a hospital are very different. I believe allergies are common enough that some people either can’t live with dogs because of severe reactions or simply because the steps to lessen the effect of allergens is too burdensome for them. But most of those people can fly in an airplane with a dog and not end up in a hospital. |
| Love dogs. So sick of dog people. If I was in law school I would definitely consider carving out a practice devoted to suing negligent dog owners. |
That doesn’t make it right though. It’s literally the only medical intervention that is allowed that can actively harm others. It’s so messed up. |
You guys are so dramatic. No one takes you seriously at this point. 🙄🙄 |
| Wonder if there could be a dog free neighborhood? I don’t hate dogs but their poop annoys me and when they take spaces (sport rinks) that aren’t for them as dog parks. I do have a rule of thumb though - when I see six or more pit pulls in my hood I roll… |
| Sorry I meant to finish the thought meaning I roll - sell |
It’s true though. What other medical device can trigger breathing problems in others and bite people? If such a device existed it would never get approved. |
