There have been studies done showing that a dog's brain lights up in the same love areas as human's brains when they see the people they love. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/08/science/gregory-berns-dogs-brains.html Have you actually been around a well socialized dog? Some dogs just love giving hugs for the same reason as human's like giving hugs, because they like the human contact. |
So cute! Love that term and going to steals it.😁 |
| I once saw a woman carrying a swaddled baby in her arms in a grocery store. When I got closer, I noticed the "baby's" scaly tail peeking out of the blankets just before the face of a 3 ft. long iguana stuck a nasty forked tongue out at me. I would have preferred a dog. |
Yep, this. I truly believe this is a form of mental illness. |
Plenty of stores do have a sign on the door saying something like "Service Dogs Only". But many entitled dog owners just ignore them and continue entering the store. |

Listen.
If you are so deathly allergic to dogs that you can’t be within a few feet of them, it is your responsibility to stay away from all places that could have dogs. That burden of protecting yourself does not belong to society. It belongs to you. If you are that deathly allergic to dogs or pet dander, you need to accept the risks of going out in public…..or you should stay home. It’s that simple. |
Please seek help. |
So we should accommodate all other disabilities but someone with a serious allergy shouldn’t be able to go grocery shopping? |
Who is being denied grocery shopping? If someone is deathly allergic to dogs and their dander, there are grocery delivery services and grocery drive-up services available to them. They will not starve. This is just as much an accommodation as a wheelchair ramp, braille, etc. For the record, I am not condoning people bringing dogs where they are not allowed, but there are LOTS of stores and restaurants where they are permitted. If people have life-threatening allergies to dogs and dander, they shouldn't be around any dog owners....and that's practically impossible to avoid, I'd think. |
| Dogs in all hotels now is so gross too. A friend of mine recently stayed at a hotel that allows pets in the rooms and she ended up bringing home fleas. |
I love dogs but I agree. Treating a dog like it's some kind of emotional security blanket isn't good for anyone, especially the dog. |
| So weird. It would never occur to me to bring my dog to any store besides a pet store where they are clearly allowed and welcomed. And believe me, I’m just as obsessed with my dog as the next person but dogs aren’t humans. |

Some of this stems from a change in how the lives of animals, especially pets, are valued.
If I were on my way back from hiking with my dog I were to run into a grocery store on a 60 degree day to grab a gallon of milk, I run the risk of having someone call animal control, even if I were gone for less than 15 minutes. The Humane Society lobbies for laws prohibiting pet owners from leaving animals in their vehicles for any length of time, regardless of the temperature. This might explain why some people bring their dogs into stores with them. |
You are psychotic. |
DP. Why? Deadly allergies to passing dogs aren’t common if they exist at all. |
