Take kids to pool while on period

Anonymous
Does anyone else love the implication that those of us that had kids vaginally somehow have giant vaginas? Lol. I feel like the OP is foreign and obviously hasn't had sex ed.

It was so tight and dry down there that I can't figure out how to insert it. I am petite and small, can someone recommend me a tampon brand that is easy to use. I will try it again.

OP, I’m sorry no one helped you with this earlier in life, but you do have to try more than ONE TIME. Yes, try different brands, etc. It may take some work, but my goodness. You need to get over this.

Did you have your period when you tried? If it was a long time ago you probably used the wrong size and it had a cardboard applicator. If my 14 year old swimmer can use tampons, you can. Get the plastic applicators, slim/small tampon, and KY jelly in case. The angle is probably different than you expect--when you put it in, aim towards your backside. It may take some adjustment. There are YouTube videos that can help you.

You can do this!!! I believe in you.

How do you have sex...?

I can't fathom never having used a tampon - are you from a culture that finds them dirty?

Lots of options with the silk applicators...

Oh geese OP. Yes, you can wear a tampon. They aren’t too big for you. Get a thin kind with plastic applicator like Tampax pearls light absorbency. Aim toward your tailbone when you insert and don’t try to put it in until your flow is pretty consistent (not the first spotting).

+1. Barring a medical problem, any woman should be able to use a tampon. It may have been user error on the first try. I remember when I was 13 and first tried using them I incorrectly inserted and it was very uncomfortable

+1. I started using them at 13 because I was on the swim team! It does take some practice. You can find an instructional video of anything these days though.

My 13 year old taught herself in 5 minutes after a very brief explanation from me. I was happy to help her more but she didn't want or need it.

If you can find Tampax Pearl (there's a massive shortage right now) these are very easy to use. Terrible for the environment because they are plastic applicators, but they slip right in. And Also, if your period is really raging, you should not have a dryness problem...

I mean if anything, after each baby, the first time I use a tampon again I cross my fingers it won't leak!

My kids need my help to look after in the shallow pool because they are non- swimmer. It is too late to cancel the plan, so we have to go to meet other friends there. They are 1-2 feet deep on that side. My kids are looking forward to it.

How do I dress not to make myself feeling awkward but can pull off these few hours? Should I go get a bathing shorts and wear underwear underneath? Is that waterproof?

If you can take a dick, you can take a tampon. Plain and simple

Well the dick doesn't stay in there for hours!

np but it sounds like OP didn’t even get as far as full insertion the first time she tried so her hesitancy is that she feels her vagina is too small to insert a tampon, not that it’s uncomfortable wearing one.

Yeah I remember having trouble with tampons the first few times as a teen. My mom used OB and I had trouble with the cardboard applicators too. Plastic, while bad for the environment, is so much easier.

My 12 year old just used a tampon for the first time. She's petite (kids size 12) and she was able to figure it out. I told her that you'd think you should aim it straight up, but actually you need to aim it more back, toward your butt. I guess that was enough for her to figure it out.

We had to run out to a small grocery store and they didn't have many options, but the tampons we wound up getting were really small. I think they were Tampax Pearl Light tampons.

Lol this thread is hilarious. I had a c section and am somehow able to use a tampon. Although these days I prefer a reusable disc. OP your vag is probably not as tight as you think. Do you ever let anyone stock their penis in there? If so you can use a tampon, a cup, or a disc.

If you can't find tampax pearl, the generic grocery store knock off ones have gotten better over the years. The pearl is definitely the way to go.

I feel like this thread should be in a Judy Blume book.

Omg yes a Judy Blume book. There is no excuse for op to be so ignorant with the whole internet at her disposal.

I might have implied that in my own response because in my experience - sex became easier for me after giving birth and I also struggled with tampons. It's not giant, but its just right now which is great!
