Take kids to pool while on period

For me it was quite the opposite. But I think the point is every one can find something that works for them.

I went to the pool with a mom who had her period. I had to care for her kids who were fighting and splashing other kids. I was so beyond annoyed at her and her lack of tampon use.

If OP has gotten to the age of her life where she has two children and takes trips, then I think it's fair to assume she's tried tampons more than once and for whatever reason they just don't work for her.

How do these prevent the blood from releasing in the pool as soon as the suit is wet? With the period underwear, the blood is released and washed out when you was them.

Realistically they don’t. The blood just goes into the water and gets bleached.

It's not actually fair to assume that when she states exactly the opposite.

"Op here. I did c section, so I did not have vaginal birth. I have never used a tampon. I tried one time, and it was unsuccessful and hurt. It was so tight and dry down there that I can't figure out how to insert it. I am petite and small, can someone recommend me a tampon brand that is easy to use. I will try it again."

She said upthread she tried once and couldn’t figure out. OP, I think it’s highly unlikely that, because you are petite, your vagina is too small to insert a tampon. It’s worth a few more tries.

Ugh, gross.

OP, you need to grow the eff up and figure out the damn tampon so you don’t ruin this trip for your kids just so you can maintain some fantasy of being too delicate for a bit of cotton in your vagina.

It’s a matter of personal preference. I think a lot of people prefer plastic applicators, but I prefer the cardboard applicators, Tampax brand. I tend to use the largest I can find, but you might want to start with a smaller size. My first time, my mom told me when she started using them, she hated them because she hadn’t inserted it far enough. You have to push the absorbent part fully into the vagina and then pull the string enough do that it is seated against, but not wedged into the vaginal opening. As for the dryness, the period itself should provide enough moisture for lubrication.

I know it’s awkward and uncomfortable at first, but giving birth is really irrelevant. Frankly, assuming you’ve ever had sex, the relative size of a tampon should be minor.

Good luck, OP. I hope it works out for you.

Not inserting it far enough is a common issue and can cause a lot of discomfort. If you can feel the cotton at the opening of your vagina it is not where it needs to be

If you’ve had PIV sex then you should be able to insert a tampon.

Slide it in following the “natural path” of your vagina. Go slowly and relax your muscles. Push the thin part of the applicator upwards slowly into the thicker part that is fully inserted. Once the tampon is inside your vagina, pull out the applicator (both pieces of plastic).

If it is not inserted deeply enough or you are not on your period it will likely feel dry and uncomfortable. Just the string should be hanging outside of your vagina.

And try it a few times before the trip to the pool so you don't feel under the gun to get it inserted right before the pool trip

Anonymous wrote:I have planned a trip this saturday that involves pool time with my kids, and period just comes. I am not a tampon person, and I don't plan to swim. My kids need my help to look after in the shallow pool because they are non- swimmer. It is too late to cancel the plan, so we have to go to meet other friends there. They are 1-2 feet deep on that side. My kids are looking forward to it.

How do I dress not to make myself feeling awkward but can pull off these few hours? Should I go get a bathing shorts and wear underwear underneath? Is that waterproof?

If you can take a dick, you can take a tampon. Plain and simple

Try putting a bit of lube in the tip to help with insertion.
