What do they need to “clean up” exactly? How was it the University’s or the student body’s fault that some local thugs not affiliated with the University randomly attacked someone? Would you cross NYU or Columbia off your “list” too because Asians have been attacked in NYC by randos not affiliated with those universities. The university's response is that this is not a racial incident and that students shouldn't be walking, jogging, biking alone especially at night. This doesn't sound right. If Asian students can't do what any other students can do, are they under a self-imposed lockdown? Is this the university's way of washing it's hands of the matter? Can't the university do more, pushing for public safety that will benefit the entire
university community? Can they not upgrade safety measure in and around the campus with shuttle or Uber rides on call?

They are probably saying this because they are a lefty school and the assailants are black. And to think that some people here are trying to characterize it as Trump U.

They have a safety escort program and it’s available to everyone.
