The university's response is that this is not a racial incident and that students shouldn't be walking, jogging, biking alone especially at night. This doesn't sound right. If Asian students can't do what any other students can do, are they under a self-imposed lockdown? Is this the university's way of washing it's hands of the matter? Can't the university do more, pushing for public safety that will benefit the entire
university community? Can they not upgrade safety measure in and around the campus with shuttle or Uber rides on call?
