lol

As a former Californian, this made me laugh.

I miss a lot about CA, but the col is not one of them.

However, I miss the weather and general laid back attitude they have there. But, personally, I like the greenery of MD.

As a nearly life-long Bethesda and Silver Spring resident who moved to Southern California 7 years ago, I can absolutely 100% tell you that the COL in SoCal is nearly the same as that of the DMV. I get to walk on the beach every single day of the year, keep my windows open 12 months of the year, hardly ever use my AC or heat.

Really? True if you have money, but that’s true everywhere. The quality of life in the UK is much better for the average person. The US health care system is a mess. When I lived in the UK my high taxes went to universal health care. The NHS isn’t perfect, no. But if my cleaning lady got cancer, she would have been taken care of, not gone into debt for the rest of her life.

And…. I never once worried about mass shootings. That’s pretty high on my list of quality of life.

Life is better at every class level in the US. Not it is not better in the UK. Indeed for middle class -- US healtcare is way better. Not sure what you are smoking.

I was born in the UAE. Dubai is just awful.

+1. I have spent a ton of time in Dubai for work. Unless you love malls, Dubai is pretty awful. Abu Dhabi, however, I really enjoy.
