You’re so well served by Republicans and yet, you’re in a thread about Democrats trying to reverse psychology people into voting for Democrats. Make it make sense. Anyway, this whole thread explains why people vote for Republicans. Democrats can’t agree on anything or treat each other with respect because the base has nada in common with the smug white people who control the agenda. I say let the whole mess fall apart. |
You left out that you’re currently at your third home on Jupiter Island dictating your posts for your Black assistant to type because you’re too rich to do it yourself. Creative writing must be detailed in order to be effective, my friend.

Nothing is going to make sense to you I fear… Two things matter the most: 1) a livable planet 2) Democracy Everything else is a distraction. No one is well served by a party looking to harm the planet and/or our democracy. But make no mistake, I’ll be harmed less than you. Just so we’re clear. |
We aren’t friends. And if I’m being honest… I was pretty sure Biden couldn’t get his tax increase through and I was very selfishly relieved he couldn’t. |
“Mwahaha!! When America goes full fascist and democracy ends, us whites will be LESS harmed than you! Take that!” Compelling pitch. |
Yes, you received the news while your private jet was mid-flight and clinked champagne flutes with Warren Buffett, didn’t you? |

1. Big tent party so there are more diverse people and views to appeal to.
2. Dems are aware that reality is complex and way beyond simplistic sound bites. 3. Thoughtful pragmatic policies are harder to condense that black and white hate mongering. Dems do need better communicators getting the message across about inclusive democracy may be messy but it sure beats authoritarian dictatorships which is where we were heading under Trump. |
Do you. I win either way. |
Agree with PP that need to keep it simple even though reality is complex It’s about the future of the planet, human survival and democracy. |
You need to give Charlie Sheen his #winning schtick back. Apart from that, please tell Warren I said hello. I know you’re at your condo on NYC’s billionaire row right now, but when next you go back to Jupiter Island, please tell Tiger Woods I hope his leg heals up. |
The people who are easily swayed by Republican appeals to racism and idiotic conspiracy theories are not persuadable for Democrats. Democrats shouldn’t waste a minute engaging with them. To do so would force us to spend most of our time and energy responding to their never-ending stream of disinformation. Democrats just need to engage with people who want the government to function competently and address public needs and concerns in a fair and equitable manner. Republicans do not act in good faith. They continually elect the worst assholes possible to represent them. No reasonable person could look at Trump, and Republicans in the Senate and House and logically choose to join with them. |
Keep voting against those privileged libs!!! Lowering their taxes will really show ‘em! |
The left (or what people think of as "left" in America) struggles because they are trying to do everything all at once and are always on the defensive. They never figured out a way to counter the Rush Limbaugh-ification of the right and figures like ancient Nancy Pelosi don't help. I often think of Michael Douglas' speech in The American President when he finally goes after the nasty right-wing Congressman played by Richard Dreyfus. Democrats still want to debate and that form of political communication ended decades ago. I can't remember a time when a Democrat kept it simple when asked about the GOP repealing Obamacare. The simple answer is, "Well, Chuck, I don't understand why Republicans are against the American people having access to health insurance. They'e never come up with anything else or anything better" Instead, it's some treatise on how Obamacare has allowed XX million people to access health insurance. The Democrats need about 1,000 Pete Buttigieg's and they need to spend money getting their message out there. The GOP has Fox, which is out there as multiple channels (Fox Business, etc.), shilling for the GOP 24/7. It's hard to compete with that. And as much as it pains me to say it because I am GenX, the Dems need to really evaluate how much of GenX they need to write off. I see too many of my contemporaries that are on the Fox News train. The Democrats need a plan on a generational comeback. I don't think they have any strategy whatsoever, whereas the GOP and the right has had a very clear strategy for a generation or more. |
NP. Absolutely unhinged ^^^. That's all I needed to read to know this thread is just as idiotic as expected. |
Bingo. And what's this malarky about the left not using professional firms? Of course they do! Their firms just provide them with absurd advice, which they always take. "Defund the Police"? "Build Back Better"? Puh-leeze. Not the brightest bulbs. |
