If RWNJs can seek to recall local school boards, it's time to use the same tactics to recall Petersen. He reecived 44,058 votes in his last reelection so it would require 4,406 signatures.

Is anyone on this? Time to make him pay for his negligence with his job.

Why the heck is he trying to give parents a choice in masking here??

Chap must go!

This notion that parents are in charge of their children's education is nauseating. They're not. We don't educate children for the good of parents. We educate them for the good of society. This entire paradigm is ridiculous and derived from the me-me-me self-centeredness of millennials. Previous generations understood what it meant to sacrifice and serve the community.

Even more ridiculous is having individual parents make decisions that affect community health.

Nope.

this is kind of the last straw for many Dems in his district. He has let them down on gun legislation and has cozied up to corporations way too much.

This. We've been saying this about Chap for YEARS now. But haven't found a primary challenger. I hope this is the last straw becuase he is definitely more of a progressive conservative than he is a moderate democrat.

Okay but he got the attention of a lot of Rs. We didn’t vote for him then but we will now. I don’t care about party lines. I’m voting for the person and he has my vote.

And that is exactly why he pushed this crap bill. It’s a political stung to garner votes.

Chap is a friend of mine from college. He is very genuine. What you see is what you get. He's been an elected Democrat since 2001 (he was out of office from 2005-2007). I can't see him changing parties. I think he decided that he would not seek higher office when he founded the "Redskins Pride Caucus" in the General Assembly in 2014, which advocated for keeping that name. He truly believed that the name symbolized good qualities, and he didn't care that being on that side of the issue would likely prevent him from going anywhere further in Democratic politics. Not to mention that he represented Advanced Towing when it was sued by Attorney General Herring, which means he would have a tough time getting Democratic votes in Arlington.

This was posted on the other thread too. Someone really likes the sound of her own “voice.” What absolute BS.

Aha! A racist!!

I knew he must be a white supremacist. People need to see this, and be informed he’s a white supremacist.

Then the party should expel him as a white supremacist.

That alone is reason to recall.

Has he apologized for supporting the racist “Redskins” name?

You think its a gotcha but lots of Redskins fans in his district probably came around to the new team name plan very relucatantly. It probably makes his constituents like him more.

This whole Redskins bs. Who gives a damn? Americans are far far too focused on symbolic racism and not nearly enough on structural racism.

DP. Why on earth should he apologize?? YOU should apologize for hurling the "racist" label so often, it ceases to mean anything anymore.

I’m not a football fan but there are a lot of them in my family. All I know is that every one of them in my family and their friends still refer to them as the Redskins.
