Look, I'm liberal. I didn't like Petersen's mask letter to Brabrand. I think Youngkin is acting like a Trumpian clown, but if you want Petersen out office you should find someone to run against him.

I get it. You disagree with his actions. That's fine. Send him an email, call him on the phone, set up a meeting. Organize a protest. Find a candidate to run against him. Let him know you don't think he's representing you in the way you expected and you plant to vote against him. Recall is for a dereliction of duty or criminal behavior. That's not Petersen.

He helped us with our very Democratic led initiative "more recess for virginia." He was awesome then. He puts kids first unlike virtually every other leader these days. He is awful. His letter was rude and a stunt. Rather than try to work with the schools to help them get off ramps, he decided to seek publicity for himself and introduce his amendment less than a day after sending it. He gets his science from an Atlantic article rather than health experts. He also voted against protecting youth athletes from abusive coaches.

He is truly awful but we aren’t Republicans who disrespect our democracy and attempt a recall. He needs a primary challenger that is more intelligent, more hard working and more willing to do the work of talking to different people and thinking through solutions rather than seek attention.
