There is a lot less crime and gang activity in Fairfax County than MOCO. You can't raise kids in MOCO.

160K kids in MCPS, lots of kids going to top rated univ, but yea, you can't raise kids in Moco.

You can raise kids in NoVa, though, with gun stores opening up next to your neighborhood PreK, and the NRA down the street from you. Wonderful neighborhood.

Where in Rockville is GANG ACTIVITY happening. Oh, sorry, you think ALL crime in MoCo is gang related but in NoVa, most of the crime is not gang related. Is that right?

As someone who went to a HS that had actual gangs, of course, I wouldn't want to live in an area with gang activity, but I'm just wondering what proof there is of gang activity in some of these cities.

Look up local news. They busted a major cartel in VA and it was underreported nationally. Google the area to exhaustion of the results. Check local papers and crime stats. Google drag racing and ATVs and the area

First of all, drag racing is not indicative of gang activity. I'm not sure why you would think that. Did you watch too much Fast and Furious?

I look at the local news, and while there is crime everywhere, that doesn't mean ALL crime is related to gang activity.

So, I'll ask again... where exactly are we seeing gang activity? I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I'm asking specifically where the gang activity is taking place.

Who the f would want to leave around any of that stuff? I don’t. Already you see people saying don’t buy that house, noise from drag racing is too much etc (Arlington, true story). Why risk your peace, happiness and property resale? It’s gross annoying and dangerous

? Who said anyone wanted to live around "that stuff".

The question is "where is the gang activity" happening?

This was a poor googling job by the ^PP who clearly googled "rockville" and "ms-13" and came up with this, not bothering to actually read the article.

Rockville is the "capital" of Montgomery County, so most of the reporting and big county cases are conducted in Rockville.

The “picture” shows most crime is on Rockville pike /355, which makes sense. Most crimes (everywhere) are property/store related.

The case was in Rockville courts, which is why they are reporting from Rockville.

The truth is most crime, gang or not, goes up 270 and 355.., proximity to getting out of dodge quickly.

OP have you listed your home yet? I find it hypocritical for you to rent out your home and reap the equity when a family that wants to live there would happily live there.

lol the Va boosters are so weird

OP move to an all white area where your local gang is probably the KKK and the methheads but you might be more comfortable with that. Your poor husband.

We moved out of 20851 after SWAT raided the house across the street from us for gang activity.

I'll admit that this was in 2013. But that was the final straw to get out of Dodge

Top google result, took 2 secs:
The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Rockville is 1 in 68. Based on FBI crime data, Rockville is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to Maryland, Rockville has a crime rate that is higher than 64% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes.

So don’t live there.
