That was a nice bookstore. The last time I was there, randomly the retired Senator Arlen Spector was there doing a book reading which I think was an autobiography. He was mostly telling jokes about conspiracy theories around the Kennedy assassination commission. I remember it distinctly because there was maybe 40 chairs set up and like 5 people in the audience. I felt sad for him. From self-important Senator to irrelevant old guy publicly rambling about the past.

George Will used to frequent the corner table for lunch at Bistro Francais. Saw him in there multiple times.

In high school I’d skip class to get Manic Panic hair dye from Smash and try to dye my hair before my parents got home and caught me. I’d get in soooo much trouble, and I was the only kid in school with crazy hair at the time so none of the other kids were allowed to be friends with me.

Now I work in a school and it’s hilarious to me how parents actually help their kids dye their hair, even as young as age 6, and you can pick up crazy hair dye in any big box store. How the hell are you supposed to rebel nowadays?!?!

Ha ha, maybe I should prohibit hair dying so that when my kids do it, they'll feel like they're sticking it to the man.

Anyone remember a restaurant that was open 24 hours on Wisconsin? It was across the street from the regular movie theater. You had to go up outdoors stairs to enter. Georgetown Cafe??

OMG was it Cafe La Ruche? I haven't thought of that restaurant in 20 years. Went there a lot. I think it was on 31st Street
