Yikes - Kelly Ernby dies of COVID

However, she was described as a local Orange County Republican Party leader and her last public appearance was at an anti vaccine mandate rally hosted by Turning Point, so I suspect that her politics had become more extreme right wing than you were perhaps aware.

Nonetheless, I’m sorry for the loss of Ms. Ernby.

Maybe her politics became extreme right wing because it helps to get 40-something White GOP women elected. It could be a career gamble that she took. It is not necessarily that she believed it. Also, entire FOX News is vaccinated.

Either way, she lacked moral clarity. Not sure which is worse - advocating extreme policies to get elected or actually believing in them. The end result for those it hurts is the same.

Especially the GOP politicians. They only encourage their followers to not vaccinate. It is also interesting how the poster who wrote the memorial for Kelly Ernby said that she was not a "Trump Supporter"...which basically means that she was not illiterate and poor. I like how everyone distinguish between the cunning and conniving GOP politicians and the deplorable white trailer trash followers.

why do you say that?

Omicron is milder, much more contagious, many people are asymptomatic and vaccine and booster will not prevent you from getting it. Delta is more dangerous and it kills, but vaccine stops it.

If she was unvaccinated, Delta probably got her and killed her. If she got omicron she probably would survived even if she was unvaccinated,

Omicron appears milder because so many people have prior immunity from infection or vaccines. It is definitely manifesting with more pulmonary embolisms and cardiac issues according to several HCWs. I am surprised that so many find this so surprising.

She was symptomatic according to reports that I saw - that she told friends she was very sick with Covid.

This is the first I have heard about it.

These threads shed a bit of light - and of course this affects mostly unvaccinated.

This is interesting. i have a 48 year old family friend who is unvaccinated and on a vent. he keeps having strokes and other clotting complications. each day brings more of these.

Her husband reportedly posted on Facebook, since her death, that she was unvaccinated.

I can't with these people anymore. I watched my aunt and uncle swallow this misinformation and how it led down the slow and inevitable path to my uncle's death. Sure, I'm also mad at my uncle. But I'm also mad at the people who pushed the lies and the people at his church who told him not to go in for antibody treatment. My cousin managed to drag my aunt in after she got sick after him and I think that saved her life.

Kelly was opposed to COVID vaccine mandates and to other COVID restrictions (particularly beach closures in SoCal in 2020) throughout the pandemic. She was very vocal about those positions on Facebook and, no doubt, elsewhere. But believe me when I say that she was not a mindless Trump follower. She was smart, accomplished, and passionate. But ultimately misguided, and that has come with tragic consequences.

Kelly and I were poles apart politically and on COVID issues, but she was a good, decent person. Hard-working, committed to seeking justice for victims of crime (she was a Deputy DA in Orange County, CA), and genuinely compassionate. She was also loyal, had a great sense of humor, and was tons of fun to be around.

It's worth remembering that behind the public image of every "political" COVID casualty, there is a real person with family and friends. I am astounded that there are still people who refuse to get vaccinated (and Kelly was not vaccinated according to her husband, Mattias), but I take no pleasure if and when something terrible happens to those people. It's a tragedy every time. This one just happens to hit close to home for me.

RIP, Kelly. Gone much too soon. You'll be missed.

Yeah, no.

Well, there are breakthrough cases also. And despite her stance on being anti-Vaxx, we don't know if she was not vaccinated. Most GOP folks are vaccinated and have access to the meds that Trump got - so they may be taking precautions for their health while telling their flock to not get vaccinated. C'mon, these guys have much more to lose if they fall sick, so they won't be so foolish as to not be vaccinated or boosted. They are mostly posturing. Trump to Melania to Ivanka to Kushner to Tiffany...everyone is vaccinated. Its the idiot followers who are not.

It is scary that Kelly died. I am very sure she was vaccinated, despite her opposition to it publically. Probably she got ill because of very high viral load because she went to a rally against vaccines few days earlier.

"Ernby is survived by her husband, Axel Mattias Ernby, who said on Facebook that his wife was not vaccinated."

To: The “sure she was vaccinated” poster

Boy, that was easy. Maybe you should stop being so sure of yourself. You dont know sh!t.

These people who will grasp for anything and lie to try to discredit the vaccine need to seriously STFU.

Blood clots can happen to anyone. The chances are higher if you have certain risk factors.

What are the factors?

Autoimmune conditions.

She was a dummy and her stupid choices killed her.

She is a poster child for moronic Republicans.

Even gang bangers are “great friends” and “student athletes” upon their tragic death.

This child’s friends, family and community are better off without her “misguided” extremely hurtful rhetoric. Sorry but kids are infinitely better of with no parent than a crazy one.

Thank goodness.

Her death will save the lives of many others.

Brief illness but was never hospitalized and was at home. Could she have been saved if she was hospitalized? Why are they not checking for clots or giving blood thinners etc?

Could she have been hiding the fact that she had COVID?

Anti facets try to power through. I’m sure she published that she was “gardening” to prove it’s nothing more than a cold. Bye Felicia!

Does it matter which one? Still dead]

She used anti-vaccine messaging to try to propel her career.

She may have been a “great friend,” but she was morally vacuous. Not a good person or patriotic American. She only cared about herself.
