They must not pay any better. |
DP but Emory is not super well-regarded in either finance or consulting, this in spite of the fact that it had a dedicated undergrad business program. Smart kids out of Emory will still do well for themselves, but they’ll have to work harder than kids from literally any of the other schools you listed above. |
Proof of that? Because this says otherwise https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1010579.page This also says the opposite https://www.bloomberg.com/business-schools/industries/consulting Ranked 15 for consulting and 21 for finance???! |
DP looking at the stats to me all the kids at Emory ( and the other schools) are smart. And a reminder that Emory does not have an engineering program like the other schools do so it doesn't get a "tech boost" for it's avg salary. |
| Clearly many Emory-bashers are underemployed. |
| Or rated “just right”. What a weird question. I know a smart kid there who is happy so I tend to think well of the place. |
| I think it’s a geographically convenient school with strong academics; I’m not sure why it’s getting so much hate in this thread. |
The lies are getting ridiculous. |
I'm not seeing too much "hate" so much as just calling it what it is. No one's saying Emory is a terrible school. It's a great school, just definitely not underrated and maybe a little overrated. Which is fine. |
You need a hobby. Most of the negative comments are from you and one other person. And you can't answer simple questions, Why is Emory's ranking consistently 20 across multiple rankings? Why are its sat scores higher than Umich and Georgetown if those schools are better? Why do Emory grads make more than Vandy grads and almost as much as Cornell grads if these schools are so much better? Where's the data on placement that says Emory has a worse placement at top companies? Stop trolling the forum and answer the questions and bring facts not feelings. |
I feel genuinely a little sad for you if you really think there’s only one or two people on this thread who think Emory’s a little overrated. Emory almost never comes up in any conversation IRL when talking about prestigious or elite schools, and the vast majority of people wouldn’t place it above Georgetown, let alone a place like Cornell. |
Okay troll, the majority of the rankings place Emory above Georgetown. That's what really matters. I don't know who you think you are trying to speak for the majority... |
Emory has cheated on its admission data for decades
|
…and was caught! https://www.foxnews.com/us/emory-university-discloses-it-sent-false-data-to-rankings-groups |
I don't know how could you reach this conclusion. First, Cornell Vandy and CMU all have great engineering schools and so many students there would not land a job in cities like NYC and DC, while Emory does not have an engineering school. Second, public universities have great portion of their UG population which would not work in NYC in engineering, while Emory does take advantage of its lack of engineering major in this list.If you want to compare the outcome of BSchool of these colleges, look for their ug outcome. Emory's bschool starting salary is much lower than every school you listed. |
