Good catch. Also weird considering the other recent thread about pregnancy at age 47. Seems like someone is just trying to stir things up.

I’m not far along at all. I’m 4 weeks in.

Odds of MC are very high. BTDT.

Well, I too waited and hoped for a MC, went to get a CVS at 10.5 weeks, which was good and clear. I was almost 45.having an abortion at 12 weeks is way way more traumatic than at 4/6/8 weeks, provided that’s what OP decides.

You stirred up a thread from 2021 just to say this?

Unplanned twins at 44 here. Single but a beautifully involved boyfriend. Kids are now 7 and it is so much fun. I feel younger than ever.

When i was 25 i had an abortion at 6.5 weeks. So easy and pain-free. My boyfriend and i went out to big lunch afterward -- I hadn't been able to eat for a couple of weeks. That was nearly 30 years ago and we are still in touch/friends and we thank our lucky stars we did not proceed with a pregnancy we did not want.

If you are truly apprehensive about raising another child perhaps you would consider adoption. I ultimately adopted my 2 kids when I was ready to be a mom at 40.

How old was your boyfriend?

Same age. We are now 51.

Women stay fertile for a lot longer than expected. I had a whoopsie pregnancy at 47 - when I thought birth control was a thing of the past for me. We already have three kids and didn't want any more, so I terminated. If they keep you young, bless you. I had my last baby at 44 and I feel old so I don't think a pregnancy at 47 would have made me younger. Everything is harder physically than it used to be, and it's busy.

Oh that is a good catch. Hope OP is happy with whatever came of this.

Your wording of this post (as well as the sentiment behind it) is abhorrent.

Just had one at 42 to anyone reading and feeling badly. She’s gorgeous and so far at six months seems to be typically developing. Already crawling! I am tired but you know what, so are all my same age friends. I’m no more tired than I was before. I’m more patient than I was with my older kids and I’m done trying tl get ahead and we have more money and I’m done being social all the time. There are really nice things about it. Also, so many of these posts about whether it’s possible or physically advised etc etc etc forget that the generations before us all had babies later in life throughout their fertile years. This is actually what your body does when not stopped. It is harder to get pregnant for the first time at this age, yeah. But fertility continues.

I’m happy for you, but the gap between you at 42 and someone who is 45 is vast and contains multitudes…of dead eggs.

My mother had my youngest brother when she was 45. I was 20. My oldest son and my baby brother are 5 weeks apart. They are now 30 years old.
