Pregnant at 45!!

Anonymous
I got pregnant accidentally. DH and I are usually
very careful and have been married for 20 years. We had one planned baby who is now a teen and the one time in 13 years we did not use protection I fell pregnant. I am so sad! I didn’t plan this and have no desire whats so ever to have a baby. I know I will love the baby once he/she arrives but I feel so old. I can’t get over the fact that I am to old to have a baby. I am so embarrassed. I haven’t told anymore as yet. I refuse to think about it let alone talk about it. Just want to vent.

You're not to old! Two girls I went to college with had pregnant moms at move-in day (18 year age gap). They both doted on their younger siblings. I know it must be such a shock, but it'll be ok (probably better than just ok).

Op herr! This was very kind! Thank you for sharing!

How far along are you, OP? From experience, I can state that miscarriage rates are much higher for older moms. My unexpected later in life ended in miscarriage. I was relieved. Wish you all the best

I was 44! Natural unplanned conception, healthy baby. He’s kept us young! Wishing you the best.

Congratulations!

You are absolutely not too old to have a baby! I had my youngest when I was 42 and it’s been totally fine - and as someone else said, it will keep you young. 🙂

If you’re truly disappointed, get an abortion.

Just want to add that if you are sad and don’t want to have a baby you don’t have to.

LOL

Women are still fertile well into their late 40s. I always say to the women who say "oh there's no way I'd want to be an 'old' mom" well you never know what's going to happen right when you have the kid you had at 23 almost out the door...

Thank you for saying this! I want to say while I am pro abortion, I don’t want to have to go through that. I just don’t know that I can mentally handle that. I really don’t know that I can handle much these days.

I’m not far along at all. I’m 4 weeks in.

Odds of MC are very high. BTDT.

My cousin had a whoopsie baby at age 50. Everything turned out fine. But they thought they were done before that with kids in college.

You probably won’t be pregnant for long. PP is right that miscarriage odds are high. If you don’t want to be pregnant, termination is very easy before 6 weeks.
