| I keep hearing this repeated but I don't get the rationale. Do people think congress will pass a law taking away women's right to vote? Please explain. |
| none, it was a scare tactic |
| Nothing will happen at the federal level. Trump's win will encourage people to finally pay attention at the state level where this shit matters. |
| OMG.... this is a troll. Seriously stupid. |
| I would guess people are mostly concerned about Trump appointing pro-life justices to the Supreme Court, and an eventual ruling banning abortion. |
| It won't start with that. But definitely look for reproductive rights to be taken away. Get an IUD now while you still can. |
| No - but IMO abortion likely to become illegal and insurance likely to not be able to cover birth control and unless it can save itself with funds from charitable people Planned Parenthood likely to close down (which is a major source of birth control information as well as healthcare for women who do not have a situation where they have a standard MD looking out for them). Insurance coverage -- whatever it is after Obamacare repealed -- likely to sway toward not covering women's issues as well as other issues. |

Please, people.
None of your rights will be taken away. NONE. Calm down. The world is not burning, despite what the liberal media have predicted. |
| None. Absolutely none. The over-the-top end of the world nonesense is much more dangerous. Trump would never have been my choice. But he isn't going to destroy the country. His ego alone may make him a decent President. 2020 will be here in four short years. Hopefully the Democratic Party had learned that you can't just shove an unelectable candidate down the throats of voters and hope it gets better. |
Did he ever say he wanted to ban all abortion? I know he is against late term abortion as are most people. |
Agreed. You folks are acting paranoid as hell. Calm down. -Dem |
Sigh, I hope they learned something. |
I learned that a misogynistic, groping racist who hasn't a clue about the Constitution or government can become the leader of the most powerful country in the world. Kanye, Eminem, 2020 awaits you. If it's good enough for Trump, it's good enough for you. |
Honestly I can't remember, but that's in the Republican Party platform. And honestly again, I voted for Clinton but I consider myself pretty pro-life so this isn't a huge issue to me. But still - the justices would have to be pro-life, AND an abortion-related case would have to make it all the way to the SC with the implications that the ruling could end most/all abortion, AND the SC justices would have to actually rule to end abortion and there's no guarantee that would even happen. I think it's mostly just people being hysterical over nothing. |
| Trump does not care about women's rights, so it's an easy give to his supporters to make sure he appoints a SCT justice who would vote to ban abortion. |
