Do you feel bad for the real Westfield, Woodson, or South Lakes students who lost their spots to transfers as well?

Oh, dear, did VHSL find those schools also violated their proselytizing regulations? I missed Asra's article on that.

Not sure. Has the VHSL ever investigated any schools that have a white coach for proselytizing regulations involving white kids?
Do you know any such cases in the history of the VHSL?

I can’t imagine why anyone would transfer to Woodson for a sport. TY e only good coach is the field hockey coach- every other coach is terrible. From football to track to soccer- some of the worst coaching I have ever seen. And the athletic director is terrible too.

Also, Hayfield’s African American principal pulled his team from the playoffs. If they weren’t guilty why did he do so?

The superintendent made the call to pull Hayfield. She said so herself.

Jesus Christ! There are numerous links to her actual message to the public! Just Google it!

So you cannot cite your source. Got it.

Here you go! Why are you so obstinate about facts around this situation? You must be trolling just to obfuscate:

In her statement, Reid told parents tonight, “This evening, the principal of Hayfield Secondary School announced the difficult decision to withdraw the football team from further postseason play. I have asked Tom Horn, Executive Director, Activities and Student Athletics, to work with VHSL to take any and all appropriate next steps.”

Reid literally wrote that the principal made the decision in the quote you cited. You are terrible at this. The lack of self-awareness you demonstrate every time you post is comical.

The Hayfield principal is the one that pulled them and made the announcement, but it’s obvious that he was directed to do so. Reid keeps mentioning HR and other high ranking FCPS officials.

If you can read between the lines you can tell that the Hayfield principal was pressured to withdraw the team. But with all the bad publicity, I think it was the right thing to do. Everyone knows Hayfield was the best team in Virginia’s 6A division.

That one sentence says everything about you Hayfraud freaks. You will break every rule in the book to build the most dominant team and you see nothing wrong with that. You dominate because you cheat. You dominate because the other high school teams are not "building" a team with cheating. Of course you will have a dominant team because you cheat.

This is not professional football. This is high school football with rules. The fact that this team that was built by breaking so many rules won many games doesn't impress anyone.

You live in an f'd up fantasy world.

No kid was ever found to be ineligible.

At least six were actually. Also, it is pretty sad that you spent your NYE on this comment board.

What’s your source? That’s not what Overton said.

There is no source because there were no kids determined not eligible. There some kids they gave a hard time, but they ended up getting their paperwork straight and were able to play.

Multiple kids transferred who were never allowed to play. Some kids transferred and were not allowed to play at first but eventually were allowed to play.

Regardless, NONE of the kids who were deemed illegally recruited and thus caused the football team to be banned from playoffs should be allowed to participate in any Hayfield winter or spring sports.

except we all know that is a load of horse manure.

VHSL did sanction Ocean Lakes HS (Virginia Beach) 8-9 years ago and their head coach at the time, Chris Scott, for three games... Scott is now the current head coach at Oscar Smith. They play by different rules down in Tidewater

Good try, but Scott was caught red handed with multiple incidents for recruiting and not just proselytizing. Most of the kids he targeted were also Black. And the disciplinary action was lifted. However, in your example a white coach was caught violating the rules more and there ended up not being any punishment against him.

He recruited over 26 kids in one season?

The VHSL said that with no proof that Overton did anything. They said, because Hayfield had so many transfers they believed atleast one had to be inappropriate. Then they suspend the program for 2 years.

Chris Scott was caught with multiple emails, pictures, a Facebook post, etc proving clear cut recruiting and he got a 3 game suspension that was reversed.

There are definitely some disparities in the treatment the VHSL displays toward coaches.

That was a fill in situation since football coach was removed mid season.

Do you "feel bad for the real Heritage students who lost their spots on the basketball team to transfers”? Last year Heritage in Leesburg, had atleast 7 transfers who weren’t zoned for Heritage come.

They played with the same AAU basketball club, which was pretty good. That is the equivalent basketball example to what happened at Hayfield. Those kids are sophomores this year and they may be good enough to make a run for the state championship by their senior year.

There was definitely proselytizing at Heritage. Wonder if there has or will be any investigation up there?

Heritage’s basketball program is doing the same thing Hayfield football is being accused of, except the students didn’t move in the schools zoning boundaries at Heritage so it’s more obvious. Last year, the recruits were all freshmen and this year they are sophomore’s so they aren’t so dominant, but there is a big difference in their record between last year and this year.

Good old FCPS back in the news for recruiting again. Hmmmmm
